The 2016 NHL Awards are here and the Flyers have a chance of bringing home some hardware. The NHL Awards show returns to Las Vegas on Wednesday night, and for the first time in a long time, a member of the Philadelphia Flyers has a chance to take home a major award. (Yes, we know Claude Giroux was a Hart Trophy finalist just two years ago, but he realistically didn't have a chance of winning that award even though he finished in the top three in voting.) Shayne Gostisbehere is a finalist for the Calder Trophy, and it's potentially the first time in team history that a Flyers player could...

But only four of them - there are some Ontarians left out! Ah, the off-season: where a professional athlete's main job is to make sure they stay in shape. (And also, preferably, not get injured. That would be for the best as well.) Well, it looks like we know where at least four members of the Philadelphia Flyers are spending their off-season, at least for now. Who knew a French Canadian from middle-of-nowhere, Ontario would one day become best buddies with a kid from Florida? That's just the magic of hockey: bringing together the unlikeliest of friends. It probably all started when both found themselves being two of the better players on the Philadelphia Flyers, but it only grew from there. With the hockey...

Claude Giroux will represent Canada at the 2016 World Cup. Claude Giroux was snubbed from Team Canada back in 2014 at the Olympic Games in Sochi. It was not a stretch to think the same could happen this fall at the World Cup of Hockey. But, nope -- Canada's management team came to their senses and indeed named Giroux to the roster on Friday night. He is the only Flyer on the team, although fellow Canadian Sean Couturier will play on the under-23 Team North America squad. Here's the full Canadian roster: Goalies G Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks G Braden Holtby, Washington Capitals G...
