Inside the Flyers: Giroux will continue leading by example

Claude Giroux says the Flyers are better than their 19-22-7 record indicates, that they should be a playoff team. The Flyers' captain, again one of the NHL's leading scorers, has avoided the temptation to erupt after losses. His style isn't to shout, isn't to throw things around the locker room.

Giroux and Voracek: Perfect together

Flashy Flyers center Claude Giroux, who finished third in the MVP voting last season, has established himself as one of the NHL's elite players, and is again among the league's leading scorers, so its not surprising he is playing Sunday in the All-Star Game in Columbus, Ohio.

2015 NHL All-Star Draft results: Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek will play against each other

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Claude Giroux will play against Jakub Voracek at the 2015 NHL All-Star Game. Voracek was selected with Team Toews' third pick, the 8th overall pick, and the captain made sure to point out that he's "the NHL's leading scorer." Nice having that guy play for the Flyers. Giroux was selected with the 14th overall pick, Team Foligno's seventh pick. Peter Laviolette coaches Team Toews. Who do we root for? Phil Kessel went second overall, the first selection by Team Toews, and Toews pretty much won the whole thing right off the bat by dropping "he's one of the most coachable...

2014-15 NFL Power Rankings

The Flyers go into the break after an overtime win over Pittsburgh. They’ll be represented by Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek in the All-Star Game and, it got me thinking, who’s a more valuable player? Both have led the team in even-strength points per 60 minutes twice over the last four seasons, and Voracek generally has stronger possession stats, but it’s pretty hard to overlook Giroux’s impact on the power play. He and Ovechkin might be the only two guys who can single-handedly promise you a top-10 power play.

Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek are Philadelphia Flyers representatives for 2015 NHL All-Star Game

The event will take place in Columbus on January 23-25, and to no surprise, the Flyers' two best players will both be represented. Earlier on Saturday, in the Flyers' 3-1 loss to Boston, Jakub Voracek became the first player in the NHL to hit 50 points in the 2014-15 NHL season. As of this writing on early Saturday evening, he leads the NHL in scoring, while Claude Giroux sits in third in the NHL in scoring with 46 points. They have been far and away the two most exciting parts of this Flyers season and this team would be abjectly terrible without them having done what they've done. It...

Claude Giroux, Scott Hartnell, other NHLers lace up with sled hockey players

Giroux + Hartnell + sled hockey = #HartnellDown Really cool video here ... Claude Giroux, Scott Hartnell, Sidney Crosby, Ryan Miller and some other NHL stars recently laced up the skates and strapped into a sled, surprising some sledge hockey players and taking to the ice with them. It's an inspirational little 3 minute video, and it's even better because .... yes, there's a Hartnell Down.

Flyers at Devils recap: Poor first period sinks Giroux-less Flyers as road trip ends with a thud

Five straight losses -- mostly to weak opponents such as tonight's -- have reminded us that every team the Flyers are playing now see them as a weak opponent as well. Alright, let's just cut to the chase here. Allison said some similar things in her recap of last night's loss in Carolina, so I don't really want to bludgeon you all over the head with it again, but we're running out of options here. There are a lot of reasons for the Flyers suffering a 5-2 loss to New Jersey tonight. Yes, some are out of their control. Claude Giroux, despite being "probable" as of last night, did not play....
