Quenneville: Bolland needs to play smarter

Chicago Blackhawks Blog | ESPN Chicago — BOSTON -- Joel Quenneville held off judgment of Dave Bolland's performance in Game 3 on the Stanley Cup finals on Monday, but a day later the Chicago Blackhawks coach said he expects more from Bolland. Bolland was whistled for a game-high three penalties, was robbed of the puck in the Blackhawks' zone to set up the Bruins' first goal, won 1-of-8 faceoffs, had one just hit and had a minus-2 rating in the Blackhawks' 2-0 loss on Monday. "Yeah, one of those nights, rough night," Quenneville said at TD Garden on Tuesday.

Stanley Cup Final: Bruins take game three. Two to go.

Stanley Cup of Chowder — The Chicago Blackhawks looked decidedly Penguins-esque tonight at the TD Garden. Dave Bolland got the penalty hat trick, Marian Hossa didn't play due to an injury in warmups, and after a Zdeno Chara injury scare, the Bruins came out firing and never looked back. After a first period with two Blackhawks power plays and no goals, Dave Bolland helped Daniel Paille out on the first Bruins goal (and the eventual game winner) by being weak on the puck and allowing Diamond Danny to steal it and fire it past Corey Crawford: Nice. Just 2:13 into the period, the confidence was flowing. 12 minut...

Bolland endures rough Game 3

Chicago Blackhawks Blog | ESPN Chicago — BOSTON -- Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals was undoubtedly Chicago Blackhawks forward Dave Bolland's best game of the playoffs. Less than a week later, Game 3 may have been his worst. Bolland was whistled for a game-high three penalties, was robbed of the puck in the Hawks' zone to set up Boston's first goal, won 1-of-8 faceoffs, had one just hit and had a minus-2 rating in the Blackhawks' 2-0 loss. Bolland's first penalty, a cross-checking call, gave the Bruins their first power play of the game at 12:00 of the second period.

Bruins vs. Blackhawks Game 2 Recap: WELL MY GOODNESS ME DANIEL PAILLE

Stanley Cup of Chowder — The first period of that game, a monstrosity in which the Bruins got outshot 15-3 and out-chanced similarly? Let's pretend it didn't happen. Blackhawks up 1-0, meh. THE SECOND PERIOD, THOUGH. It started off with a crabby Dave Bolland. Brad Marchand dissed you bad, G. Or something. Needless to say, Bolland was off to the penalty box for a trip after that. Bye, Bolly. The next fifteen minutes were pretty much just a bunch of nail-biting garbage until the third line, that line of sadness and terrible fancy stats for the entire season pretty much, FINALLY capitalized on something. Oh hell...

Torey Krug and the Boston PMD Paradox

Stanley Cup of Chowder — 12:06 left in the third. The Bruins hold a two goal lead over the Chicago Blackhawks in game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on the road. Retrieving the puck as both teams change out personnel, Torey Krug, under token forechecking pressure from Dave Bolland and thus unable to skate it out, surveys his options. Nobody available up the wall due to the change, d-to-d cut off, but a seemingly wide open Kaspars Daugavins pulls back from his rush in the neutral zone to create a passing lane. Krug saucers that pass, only to have it intercepted by Andrew Shaw. And we know the rest. The game is back...

All clear for Torey Krug rebound

Boston Herald — CHICAGO — Every fairy tale needs adversity to spice things up, and rookie defenseman Torey Krug finally ran into trouble during the Bruins’ 4-3 triple-overtime loss to Chicago Wednesday in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals.Krug’s giveaway during a line change led to Andrew Shaw setting up Dave Bolland’s goal that cut the Bruins’ lead to 3-2 in the third period. Krug didn’t get off the bench again in the third period and only rejoined the B’s active skaters again once the OT sessions commenced.

Column: Hawks' Shaw ends triple-overtime thriller

Ottawa Citizen — It took three overtimes, and countless near-finishes, until finally with 7:52 left in the third overtime, a point shot from Blackhawks defenceman Michael Rozsival drifted off Dave Bolland’s stick first, then caught a tiny piece of Andrew Shaw — his knee, it looked like — to end it all.

Shaw, Bolland end a Game 1 thriller

Chicago Blackhawks Blog | ESPN Chicago — CHICAGO -- You wouldn't be wrong to think Chicago Blackhawks forwards Andrew Shaw and Dave Bolland have similar on-ice demeanors. Bolland made his name agitating opponents in the playoffs and now Shaw is doing the same. But both have some skill as well. The two combined for a double deflection of a Michal Rozsival shot to end a triple-overtime thriller, 4-3 over the Boston Bruins, in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Wednesday. It was the second of two goals for the two linemates, and it was well into Thursday before Shaw spoke of them.

Game 1 lived up to sky-high expectations

Chicago Blackhawks Blog | ESPN Chicago — CHICAGO -- In the moment when Michal Rozsival's point shot ricocheted first off teammate Dave Bolland's stick and then off Andrew Shaw's leg and past a helpless Tuukka Rask to bring this epic Stanley Cup final tilt to an end came two thoughts. First: Thank goodness. Second: Can we do that again? Now? And again and again and again? If Game 1 of the 2013 Stanley Cup finals, a 4-3 triple-overtime victory for the host Chicago Blackhawks, is any indication, the series the hockey world had been anticipating is going to deliver the goods.

Possible amnesty buyouts - The Central Division

Habs Eyes On The Prize — Chicago Blackhawks - Sheldon Brookbank - D - One year remaining at $1.25M Chicago is tight against the cap but most of their roster is filled, especially the important positions. They need more cap space, but the players they may want to shed (like Dave Bolland and Johnny Oduya) have way too much trade value to consider buying out. They could likely get a 1st round pick for Bolland. Brookbank is terrible and makes too much money to sit in the press box with such a high cap team. St. Louis Blues - Jaroslav Halak - G - One year remaining at $3.75M The Blues don't look to be in cap troubl...
