Tom Powers: Devan Dubnyk, after digging deep, makes own postseason file

ST. LOUIS -- We still can't put the words "cagey playoff veteran" in front of his name, but Devan Dubnyk now has one NHL postseason contest under his belt.

Wild play what Devan Dubnyk calls "fantastic road game" for 1-0 series lead

The Playoffs: Rd 1 - Gm 1 - Minnesota Wild @ St. Louis Blues

Tonight at 8:30 PM (which we all know really means 8:50 or so) the Wild begin their mission to defeat the Blues. Projections are split pretty evenly, but the balance tend to favor the Blues. In the Green Corner For the Wild's part, they have a lot going for them. They are by far the team in form, with Dubnyk leading them on an almost-unbelievable run since the trade for him in January. He has been posting Vezina-level numbers, with a .936 Sv% at 5v5. What's more amazing is that when you look at just his away performances, that jumps to .94. Normally, I would predict a drop, but I'm not so...

2015 NHL Playoffs Blues/Wild Game One Preview

Are you guys ready for some playoff hockey? I know that I am. It's tough to write a game one preview, isn't it? These two teams have never met in the playoffs, split the season series, and while the Wild have blown the doors off of the league down the stretch the Blues have played some dominant hockey recently. I could be lazy and point your direction toward CrossCheckRaise's absolutely kick-ass series preview. So I will. Read this. He raises some damn good points, especially that this year's Wild are 2009's Blues. Put a terrifying beard on Devan Dubnyk and shave his head and there you go....

Ones who got away from Edmonton Oilers shining with other NHL teams

Yes, we acknowledge that hindsight is 20-20, and that there are always extenuating circumstances for some of the moves that are made, but since the Edmonton Oilers are out of the playoffs yet again, we had nothing but time on our hands. That and the fact that goaltender Devan Dubnyk has become THE story in the National Hockey League after pulling the Minnesota Wild into the post-season with a performance that was worthy of Hart Trophy consideration.

Dubnyk's persistence to play in goal is the Wild's gain

Devan Dubnyk used to emulate WWF moves with friends. His best move was insisting on playing goalie.

Wild Lay Down the Beats on that Nashville Honkeytonk Ass

The Wild clinched in a big game against the Blackhawks on Tuesday and decided to give its team MVP Devan Dubnyk a very deserved night off. Taking a seat Thursday night as well was Zach Parise, Thomas Vanek, and Nino Niederreiter. Enter Matt Cooke, Sean Bergenheim, and Darcy Kuemper. The Wild scored four unanswered goals in the final 23 minutes of the game to come from behind and beat the Nashville Predators 4-2 on the Bridgestone Arena ice for the third time this season. It didn't start the best for Kuemper and the Wild. Kuemper had a Filip Forsberg shot go by him on a shot that should have...

Nashville Predators 2, Minnesota Wild 4: So Long Division Championship Hopes

The Predators needed at least a point to keep their hopes for a first-ever banner alive. They didn't get it. A depleted Minnesota Wild team took the ice in Nashville tonight, opting to rest a few of their important players after clinching a playoff berth for the third-straight year. Zach Parise, Thomas Vanekm, Nino Niederreiter and ironman Devan Dubnyk all took the night off. Needless to say, a loss of any kind would be embarrassing, especially considering the Central division could be won or lost this evening. Filip Forsberg and Seth Jones notched a tally before the game was 20 minutes...

Game 81: Minnesota Wild @ Nashville Predators

Ryan Suter will be boo'd, this much we know. After clinching a playoff spot for a third straight season, the Wild will rest up a handful of regulars tonight. Darcy Kuemper will start tonight for the first time since January 6. Its the first time in 39 games someone not named Devan Dubnyk is starting between the pipes. Kuemper was hot to begin the season, but cooled off significantly by Turkey Day and beyond. Kuemper is 2-0-0 with a 2.12 GAA, .909 SV% and one shutout in three starts against Nashville in his career.  Despite a night off for Dubnyk, he will be back between the pipes on...

Wilderness Walk: Game Day Edition

The only mystery surrounding the Wild is which players will hit the ice over the final two games as the team prepares for the playoffs. The team will also have plenty of time off following the season finale Saturday in St. Louis. The Wild havd made their way from Chicago to Nashville to challenge the Predators in game 81 of the 2014-2015 season.   Answers to many lineup questions will be answered at the morning skate, but it is unclear whether Yeo will attempt to lighten the load of his veterans and potentially rest Devan Dubnyk or keep everyone in the lineup to keep them engaged before...

Minnesota Wild's postseason clinched, Yeo faces more decisions

NASHVILLE -- Before Devan Dubnyk stopped 32 shots in a 2-1, postseason-clinching win Tuesday in Chicago, coach Mike Yeo caught the goalie alone in the hallway at United Center.

Wild power play is no help; fall 3-2 in shootout to Red Wings

It took until the eighth round of the shootout to decide who would receive the second of two points that both the Detroit Red Wings and the Wild desperately needed to inch closer to a playoff berth. That point would go to the Red Wings, who had a lot of fans in attendance at the Xcel Energy Center, as 19,246 packed the arena to the brim. Zach Parise got both Minnesota goals for his fifth multi-goal game of the season. Devan Dubnyk stopped 20 of 22 shots as he suffered the shootout loss. The Wild were looking to get off to a quick start after allowing the Rangers take it to them in the...
