Steve Mason to skip World Championships, but he deserved Team Canada's job

Steve Mason won't play for Team Canada in the 2015 IIHF World Hockey Championships in May due to injury, but he absolutely deserved the job. Steve Mason deserves the starting gig on Team Canada at this spring's World Hockey Championships. I mean, look at the list of Canadian goalies who have played more than 20 games in the NHL this season. Vertically-challenged goaltender Bachman talks inches after his shutout feat

Edmonton Oilers’ backup Richard Bachman was talking inches after his feat Friday when the vertically-challenged goalie picked up his second-career NHL shutout. Yeah, he wishes he was a highrise like Devan Dubnyk at 6 feet 5 inches or Ben Bishop at 6 feet 7 inches.

Flames vs Wild - Ramo can't do it alone.

The team has not changed their style of play all season and tonight it bit them in their butts. They faced a formidable playoff bound team. Minnesota's season went from alright to a heap of burning garbage to a goaltender less than year removed from being dealt several times. With Devan Dubnyk, the Minnesota Wild have been a capable and lethal team. Tonight they showed off their capabilities and to not much surprise; they showed us how difficult the Western conference truly is. Wild Throw Water on Flames in 4-2 Win.

A dominating effort start to finish gives brings the Wild within one point of the third place Chicago Blackhawks. The Wild hosted the Calgary Flames Friday on the first of a back-to-back. Flames goaltender Kari Ramo was absolutely scintillating through 40 minutes, but a Thomas Vanek go-ahead goal cracked that egg like the old, "This is your brain on drugs," commercial. Josh Jooris (that's a real name) got the scoring going for Calgary in the first period. The Wild had all five guys taking everybody, but taking no body as Jooris was able to roof the puck over Devan Dubnyk's right...

Wilderness Walk: Layover Edition

A day full day of rest to recover from one back-to-back and prepare for another. Home has been a challenge for the Wild of late, and the next two games are crucial to re-establishing the team's game at the X. After stealing a game in Toronto only to suffer the Isles' incredible barrage on Long Island, no player deserved this full day off more than Devan Dubnyk.  He has been consistently sensational, has developed a pattern to demonstrate promise of future success.  Many writers have run out of superlatives to use, but all praise is deserved and enough could not be said for his...

As the Wild wrapped up winning visits to the only two NHL cities they had yet to visit, questions about Devan Dubnyk continued, his personal media tour growing with each how-did-he-do-that effort.

POINTS TAKEN: Wild win 10th Straight in Shootout Win Over Islanders

The Wild and Devan Dubnyk had to weather the storm as it took a while for them to find their legs. But once they did, they were able to squeak out a 2-1 shootout victory over John Tavares and the New York Islanders. Zach Parise scored the game-tying goal and the shootout goal to secure the win. New York put a barrage of pucks towards Dubnyk as the Wild reeled in their defensive zone. At one point shots were 13-2 with shot attempts 23-2 midway through the first period. Dubnyk stopped all of them as the two teams skated to a scoreless first period. In the second period, Minnesota did...
