Oilers' Klefbom a bright light in a dark season

Raleigh, N.C. — Dustin Penner didn’t score enough when he was an Edmonton Oilers winger but he did leave the team with one big assist when he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings — a late first-round draft pick in 2011. The Oilers used it to take Oscar Klefbom 19th overall after the falling out with big Penner, who isn’t seen in NHL rinks anymore. He’s only on Twitter (@DustinPenner25) where he has a rabid following of 106,000. Dustin Penner apologizes for Twitter jokes about rape that cost him a TV job

Dustin Penner has apologized for joking about rape on Twitter, a decision that meant he will will not be participating in TSN’s coverage of Monday’s NHL trade deadline.The network confirmed to Yahoo that Penner, a 32-year-old free agent who most recently played for the Washington Capitals, would not be working with “Cabral ‘Cabbie’ Richards to give a different-type of take on the deadline,” according to the Puck Daddy blog.Read full article >>
