Eddie Lack to face formidable Blues as Canucks return home

VANCOUVER – Despite a mediocre performance in Buffalo on Thursday, Eddie Lack will back between the pipes tonight for the Vancouver Canucks when they face the formidable St. Louis Blues. Lack felt he surrendered just one bad goal in the 6-3 loss to the Sabres.

Willes: Behind Eddie Lack's laugh track lurks a tough competitor

The popular image of Eddie Lack is that of the happy-go-lucky jokester, and Henrik Sedin does nothing to alter that perception of his countryman. “I don’t think he understands where we are and how big every game is,” the Canucks’ captain said of the team’s newly minted starting goalie.

Eddie Lack's Big Day

Last night was Eddie Lack's 5th NHL game where he saw 40+ shots on goal. In the other four, he's given up 4, 4, 7, 4 goals. Congrats to him on the game of his life. Boy howdy, does Seidenberg look slow. Otherwise, pretty happy with how the team played overall. Sort of wish we had a few more games this week to see what the new-look bruins can do. I bet Chiarelli does, too. Oh also Bergenheim got traded to Minnesota for a third round pick and that is such a bargain basement price. Love to see one of my favorite teams taking advantage of situations like that. Oh and Danny Paille scored a goal!...

Eddie Lack makes 40 saves, Zack Kassian strikes again in 2-1 win over Bruins

After Eddie Lack stopped 20 shots in the second period, Zack Kassian scored his seventh goal in the month of February to lift the Canucks over the Bruins. Ready or not, Eddie Lack entered Tuesday's game as the No. 1 goalie for the Canucks, at least for the next 4-6 weeks. Based on his performance, Lack was certainly ready for the task ahead. After making 27 saves against the Islanders on Sunday when Ryan Miller left with a lower body injury, Lack turned in a masterful game against the Boston Bruins, making 40 saves as the Canucks (35-22-3) came out on top in a 2-1 win. Miller will be out...

Canucks 2 Bruins 1: Lack shines in hostile territory

If a game was a season, Eddie Lack would be a star right now.The legend of Lack grew three sizes in Boston, in a game he spent as much time trying to clear bodies from his crease as he did pucks. He was run. He was chopped, He was twisted. He was buried.

Canucks have no Lack of options in the crease

BOSTON - The timing of the Ryan Miller injury is terrible. Normally it’s next week, after the trading deadline, that Eddie Lack is forced to become the Vancouver Canucks’ starting goalie.

Willes: At some point in all this, the Canucks earned our respect

The storylines continue to change on a daily basis. Is Zack Kassian the new triplet? Is Eddie Lack the new starting goalie? Are they buyers or sellers at the trade deadline? But amid all the intrigue one thing remains constant for the Vancouver Canucks this season — they’re winning a lot more than they’re losing, and with the finish line now in sight, they still sit in a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Vancouver Canucks 4 (EN), New York Islanders 0: Miller, Lack share the shutout

The Isles missed all of their chances, the Canucks buried theirs. The Vancouver Canucks survived an injury to Ryan Miller and rode a three-goal second period to hand the New York Islanders a rare home loss, 4-0. Eddie Lack was outstanding, stopping all 27 shots in relief of Miller for a combined 37-save shutout. Though the scoreline hints at a blowout and rotten egg, the story is a little more nuanced than that. Ultimately the result turned on special teams: The Isles struck out on multiple early power play opportunities, while the Canucks cashed in on two of theirs. But this was a game...

Devils 4, Canucks 2: Kassian scores two but Lack struggles early

Deep into the second, Eddie Lack made a couple of relatively difficult saves. One on Jaromir Jagr and another on Travis Zajac. From a corner of the Prudential Center, an "Eddie, Eddie" chant seeped out.

A "So Close" Game Recap ( 4-2 L )

With Mamma Lack and 25 friends from Sweden, would Eddie put on a show for them ? Eddie Lack got the start in this one, and no one could argue with that decision  He was a .924 save % in his last 3 games, and deserved to get the net for this one. Unfortunately, he was only really good for 58 of the 60 minutes.  This game was not totally on him, of course. It is a team game, and the power play had several chances for the Canucks to get something out of this one.  The Canucks played hard, and maybe deserved a better fate.  But, even with their fortunes lagging this year, the New Jersey...

Canucks Hat Trick: Talking Miller’s mood, Biega’s brothers and trade rumours

Alex Biega scores game-winner in NHL debut as Canucks defeat Wild 3-2

Vancouver's blue line has been plagued by the injury bug, but Alex Biega stepped up to make a splash in his NHL debut on Monday night. Eddie Lack probably thought he'd be starting against the Flames on Saturday. Instead, he waited until Monday for his next appearance in net. After a strong performance, he saved his best for last. With the Canucks (32-21-3) leading 3-2 in the final 10 seconds of the game, Matt Dumba found himself wide open in the slot with a chance to send the game into overtime. Eddie Lack stood his ground and used his glove to deflect the shot away. As chaos in front of...

Wild seize control with two goals in 54 seconds to defeat Canucks 5-3

The Canucks were left playing catch-up before the Wild took control of the game with two goals in less than a minute during the 2nd period. The Xcel Energy Center as been known as Vancouver's house of horrors, and that certainly proved to be true on Monday night. The game started with one of the more eventful first periods the Canucks have been a part of this season, but unfortunately it was for the wrong reasons. The Wild scored early and often against Ryan Miller, scoring five goals on 18 shots in less than 30 minutes to send Miller to the bench early. Eddie Lack did his best to clean up...
