Two teams I was hoping would lose in the first round are now facing off in the second round, so who to cheer for? Well Jimmy Rixner made a pretty good case for us today, and Karlsson sucks. This series is the best player in the world, Sidney Crosby, versus the pretend best player in the world in the mind of deluded Senators fans, Erik Karlsson. It's time for us to embarrass ourselves yet again. If you thought our thoughts about the Senators' previous series were silly, wait until you read what we think about this upcoming series. 1. Daniel Alfredsson and Erik Karlsson tied for the team points lead with 6 each in 5 games. Alfie is 40 and Erik Karlsson is still recovering from having his season ended by not letting his season be ended. Firstly, outside of Erik Karlsson (and this year's version of Craig Anderson), there is no one more talented in the Ottawa Senators organization than Jason Spezza. Kyle Turris has done an admirable job of filling in this season, but Jason Spezza isn't a good player, he is a great player. He has that special next level that allows him to do things no other forward on the Senators can do. He makes his wingers considerably more effective, and I swoon to think of the effect he will have on the ineffectual power play.
