Fear the Fin Video Chat: Answering questions about UFAs and Sharks-Kings

You have questions, I pretend to have answers. For the second week running I fielded your questions over at Facebook for a live video. This is a feature I'll be doing at around 10 a.m. on Mondays from here on out, so if you don't like us on Facebook yet...well, now's a good time to correct that. I answered questions about the impending unrestricted free agent decisions the Sharks will be facing, including the likelihood of re-signing the players acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs this season. I also discussed the possibility of getting James Reimer a game in the next couple of days and...

Toronto Marlies explain decision to send goaltender Alex Stalock home

The Toronto Marlies acquired goaltender Alex Stalock in a trade with the San Jose Sharks just before the trade deadline which had sent James Reimer out to California. The 28-year-old native of St. Paul, Minnesota played in just three games for the Toronto Marlies since the trade. In those three games he posted a 1-2-0 record with a 2.66 goals against average and a .907 save percentage. On Saturday, April 16th, 2016, Toronto Marlies, coach Sheldon Keefe was asked about the future of Stalock and if the team had sent him home, he responded: "To say we sent him home is a bad way to describe...

NHL Playoffs 2016: Martin Jones named game one starter

This is probably the right move. Peter DeBoer announced Martin Jones as the Sharks game one starter on Tuesday, saving us from a potential full-blown goalie controversy. DeBoer confirms Martin Jones is Game 1 starter #SJSharks — Kevin Kurz (@KKurzCSN) April 12, 2016 This is probably the right long-term move for the Sharks. James Reimer will more than likely not play in teal next season and starting him in the first game of the playoffs might torpedo the confidence of the Sharks starter of the future. I know that gets into some #team #chemistry stuff that we, quite frankly, won't...

PPP's 2016 NHL Playoff Bracket Challenge

Since the Leafs are out share your picks with us in our bracket league As the playoffs begin we all have team we'll cheer for, or maybe we'll just watch and enjoy. Adding a little friendly competition isn't bad either. That being said I've created a PPP Bracket Challenge league over at NHL.com. Click here to go to the PPP league, sign up and make sure you put your PPP username as your entry name so we know who to mock when they pick the first round entirely wrong. Who do you want to see win? Former Leaf Daniel Winnik on the Capitals? Phil Kessel on the Penguins? James Reimer on the Sharks?...

Quick Bite: Marleau helps Sharks make history

After watching a lot of irrelevant hockey this year, it really feels good to watch some meaningful hockey. It is tough writing for multiple teams! The Minnesota Wild and San Jose Sharks are a couple of playoff bound teams with something to prove. Both are trying to get over the proverbial hump and make some noise this playoff season. First Period I have to admit even as an interested party, this first period wasn't much to write home about. It was not high event hockey by any means and I would in fact consider it boring. That is part of the Wild's game though and the Sharks started to play...
