With new addition Marian Gaborik in the lineup, the Jackets took it to their former nemesis in their barn. Gaborik made an instant impact, and James Wisniewski converted on the powerplay. So far in our look at the players that could be part of the team's "New Foundation", we've mostly talked about forwards. Time to take a look at the back end of the roster. The Jackets have officially placed James Wisniewski on IR for his broken foot, with an estimated recovery time of 4-6 weeks. If we look at the worst case (and at this point, why not?), he'll probably return for the final week of the regular season. In the mean time, I'd expect to see Fedor Tyutin and Nikita Nikitin logging heavy minutes, while the MASH unit of Erixon, Moore, Aucoin, and Goloubef fill in the slack until Jack Johnson can get healthy and draw back in. Nobody beats the Wiz, especially when it comes to crappy luck as James Wisniewski has a broken foot and will miss "an extended period of time". Over the past four seasons he's played an average of just 60 per year. As I said the other day, my spidey sense was tingling over Martin Brodeur's sore back and now the Devils have placed him on the IR, so he'll miss at least the next two games.
