Wow, what a difference 10 days makes, huh? The last time the Blues saw the Wild, Jaroslav Halak started the game before tweaking a groin muscle. Brian Elliott came in, made 19 saves, and saved the Blues' bacon for the evening by getting a win. Since then, Elliott has won four games straight, including two shut-outs, and the Blues have won five games in a row. They're currently in 6th place in the Western Conference. It's often been said that Brian Elliott plays better when the fire of competition has been lit under his ass. Last season, he had Jaroslav Halak pushing him, and when Halak went down, Elliott knew that the fate of the Blues season rested on his shoulders. Jaroslav Halak had to leave last night's game after folding at the end of the first period. It was either a groin or knee injury and we'll let you know when there is more information. Dave Bolland made a kick save and in retrospect maybe that wasn't a great idea as he had to leave with a sore foot. He's probably just day-to-day. Remember when we all cried with anguish that the Blues had sent down Jake Allen to Peoria? Well, cry no more, because Allen's returned.
