Between now and training camp we’ll examine the Hawks roster and some of its line combinations. In this entry, a potential third line is dissected. Unlike the first two lines, there is much more potential for movement in and out of this threesome, especially the wingers.

NHL.com reports: Patrick Kane threw a hook, and it was "down went Toews, down went Toews." The Blackhawks captain fell like a stone and Kane erupted, throwing his arms up in the air and letting out a few "woo hoos."
Kane, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound artist on the ice, has never been in an NHL fight. But in NHL 11 from EA Sports, the 21-year-old from Buffalo apparently is a brawler. At least, that's what he was when he squared off against teammate Jonathan Toews, this year's EA NHL 11 cover boy, at the NHL Powered by Reebok Store in midtown Manhattan.

The Blackhawks have signed forward Ryan Potulny to a one-year, $500,000 contract.
The 26-year-old had 15 goals and 17 assists with the Edmonton Oilers last season. Potulny was a third-round pick (87th overall) in the 2003 NHL entry draft by the Philadelphia Flyers and has 22 goals, 27 assists and 54 penalty minutes in 116 career games.

Hawks' prospects to compete in Toronto

Blackhawk prospects will get a jump on training camp when they compete in the Toronto Maple Leafs rookie tournament beginning Sept. 11 in Toronto.
The Hawks will send a team made up of three first round picks including forwards Kyle Beach and Philippe Paradis along with defenseman Nick Leddy. Top prospects Shawn Lalonde, Igor Makarov, and Jeremy Morin will also participate.
The squad will play three games over the course of four days against prospects from Toronto, Ottawa, and Pittsburgh.
Bill Peters, the head coach of the Rockford Ice Hogs, and his staff, will coach the prospects in Toronto.
