Gustavsson back, Subban sent to Providence

Well that was a quick stay for Malcolm. After a little over a week on the shelf, Jonas Gustavsson is good to go. Per the Bruins' website: "The final testing is complete and all results have been reviewed by the Bruins Medical Staff. Jonas has been cleared to resume full on-ice participation with the team without any restrictions." To make space for Gustavsson, Malcolm Subban was optioned back to Providence. Hey, at least he got a really nice view of that terrible game Tuesday night for his troubles?

Is It Time For Malcolm Subban To Be Given A Chance?

With Jonas Gustavsson's injury, Malcolm Subban is likely to spend several games with the Boston Bruins this time round. With the Bruins working their way towards a playoff run and needing two solid goalies to give them a strong chance. Can Subban take his chance to oust the Swede? Will he even get one? Malcolm Subban has an opportunity right now. With Jonas Gustavsson showing no timeline for his return to starting right now and NHL play resuming, PK's brother and arguably Boston's hottest netminding prospect is back up with the big club. The 22-year-old has been in strong form in Providence...

Duck Duck GOOSE

We're keeping our fingers crossed for Jonas Gustavsson. The Bruins enter the All-Star Break in third place in the Atlantic Division. Buck up, Bruins fans, the Bruins are topping expectations, and have met their internal goal to be at third place in the division.[WEEI] Quota. Sigh. The Ducks knocked in 6 goals to top the Bruins. Jonas Gustavsson fell ill, and a weary Tuukka Rask found himself pressed into service for the second night in a row.[TheBostonGlobe] Hey- remember that time Goalie Bob Essensa dressed as Rask's backup?[THeBostonGlobe] Postgame, Torey Krug insisted that he...

Bruins' Jonas Gustavsson taken to hospital mid-game

Winter Storm, nooooooo! The Bruins issued a release during the second period of tonight's game that Jonas Gustavsson has been taken to Mass General "due to illness." Not to speculate AT ALL, because I sincerely hope it has nothing to do with this, but Gustavsson has had two heart surgeries in the past - one in 2011, and one in 2009. According to the Bruins' PR staff, he has only been brought to Mass General for observation. Here's hoping everything's ok.

Snowstorm Sagas

A Washington Capital blows out his drive, and an Islanders goalie makes serial saves in his SUV with a tow strap. Was it a pretty win against the Blue Jackets? Hardly, but then again, the Bruins will take it. ON to Philadelphia, where the Bruins face the Flyers at 7:00PM tonight. Claude Julien made some adventurous choices on Saturday. "Donald Trump would have been a more likely right-wing candidate to ride with Marchand and Bergeron than Spooner."[TheBostonGlobe] One such surprise was in store for Jonas Gustavsson , and another for Torey Krug.[TheBostonGlobe] Five occurrences of note-...
