Sharks' draft pick Norris has 'Logan Couture attributes'

CHICAGO Sharks general manager Doug Wilson is typically restrained in his public praise for players in the system. We dont like to over promote our prospects is a phrase hes used countless times.Thats what made his instant comparison of Sharks first round pick center Josh Norris to a current core player so unexpected.We think I hate doing this, but Im going to [Norris has] a lot of the Logan Couture attributes to him, Wilson said on Friday at United Center, shortly after presenting Norris with a teal sweater.

Boedker, Dillon among players left unprotected by Sharks

The NHL on Sunday morning released which players each of the 30 NHL teams are protecting and making available tothe Vegas Golden Knights.The Sharks are protecting Joe Pavelski, Logan Couture, Tomas Hertl, Chris Tierney, Jannik Hansen, Melker Karlsson, Ryan Carpenter, Brent Burns, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Justin Braun and Martin Jones. San Jose chose the format of protecting seven forwards, three defensemen and one goalie rather than eight skaters and one goalie.
