Highlights of National Hockey League games on Thursday: Penguins 6, Stars 2 Sidney Crosby extended his NHL lead in goals with his 16th of the season, and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury won for the first time in six starts in the Pittsburgh Penguins' 6-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Thursday. The score was 2-2 when Crosby scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period, deftly batting the puck out of the air and sending it off the back of Stars goaltender Antti Niemi and into the net. Marian Hossa, overtime hero - again and again and again

Marian Hossa, overtime hero - again and again and again

He’s third out of all active players when it comes to OT goals. I’ve done my fair share as of late of talking about just how many goals Marian Hossa has been scoring. And why not? He now has 12 in 24 games, leading all of the Chicago Blackhawks. He’s one away from matching last season’s total, and that’s in 40 fewer games. Yep, the 37-year-old Hossa is a pretty good one. So... how about yet another overtime winner? You know, again? Via the Elias Sports Bureau: The 37-year-old Hossa (he turns 38 on January 12) is the first player in NHL history to score three overtime goals in one...

Hossa's 12th goal gives Blackhawks OT win over Devils

CHICAGO – Marian Hossa may be playing like the most experienced member of Chicago Blackhawks, but he doesn't show signs of being one of the team's oldest players.

Marian Hossa intends to play out his full contract

He’ll be 42 when his current contract expires. Marian Hossa is 37 years old - almost 38 - and still going. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t really plan to stop. Via Elliotte Friedman’s 30 Thoughts (#16): “In some of those [World Cup of Hockey] games, he was playing 23 minutes,” said Bowman, part of Team North America’s management group. “We were staying at the same hotel and I asked him if he was okay with that. He said, ‘I feel great.’ We’d talked about resting him during the season, but now? We’ll see how it goes.” Hossa said he benefitted from the Blackhawks’...

Marian Hossa is on fire

10 goals already? My, how time flies. Marian Hossa is three seasons removed from his most recent 30-goal season - and his only one with the Chicago Blackhawks, at that. Now 17 games into this season, Hossa has scored 10 goals already. He’s on pace for 48 goals - something that probably isn’t going to happen, if not because of his abnormally high 23.8 shooting percentage that’s probably to fall at some point, then because setting a new career high at the age of 37 seems somewhat unlikely. But hey - this hot start is the best he’s ever had with the Blackhawks. Via the Elias Sports...

Marian Hossa is now 40th all time in goals scored

Old man Hossa just can’t stop scoring. Thanks to a four-game goal streak, Marian Hossa now has nine goals this season. But that’s not all: according to the Elias Sports Bureau, Hossa is the oldest Hawk to do score in this many consecutive games. At age 37, he's the oldest player ever to score a goal for the Blackhawks in each of four consecutive team games in one season. Hossa broke his own Chicago team record, which he set when he scored goals in four straight games...
