The Numbers: 26 goals (+11), 35 assists (+1), 61 points (+12), and 54% CF in 81 (+3) games played. Mats Zuccarello says goodbye to Derick Brassard

Nooooooo, my heart. Oh no. Oh, no. Look - there are plenty of solid hockey reasons to trade Derick Brassard for Mika Zibanejad. That's what this post is about. This particular post, however? This one is about how Carl Hagelin, Mats Zuccarello, and Derick Brassard were a trio of best friends - and now Zuccarello has lost both of them, as Hagelin is now in Pittsburgh and Brassard in Ottawa. That leaves Zucc alone in New York. #werethetwobestfriendsthatanyonecouldhave ❤️ A photo posted by matszuccarello (@matszuccarello) on Jul 18, 2016 at 11:02am PDT That hashtag, oh no....

Mats Zuccarello's brother signs with the Flyers

The Valencia Flyers. Of the Western States Hockey League! Mats Zuccarello has already had himself a pretty distinguished career for an undrafted player. He's already got 303 games played in the NHL; he's got 203 points to go with them. He's a half a point per game player in the playoffs. He'll be 29 to start next season, but he only just got his NHL career started when he was 23, only playing in New York. Enter: his younger brother, Fabian. Fabian Zuccarello is also undrafted. Like Mats, he's a relatively small guy: 5'10 and 157 lbs. (Taller, but lighter!) He's only 19 years old, and has...

Mats Zuccarello's charity game raised over 2 million kroners for Right to Play

That's over $240,000 USD. Year three of Mats Zuccarello's charity all-star game. Year three of success. His first game, back in 2014, raised $190,000 USD. His second, which marked the first time Zuccarello played following a severe head injury in the playoffs in 2015, raised $170,000. But his third game this year appears to have raised the bar. The game was able to raise a little over two million Norwegian kroners - or somewhere around the neighborhood of $241,300 USD, which is quite the jump from past years. Yesterday was amaizing! Everyone who was a part of the last to days in...

Mats Zuccarello, Henrik Lundqvist took to the ice again for Zuccarello's Charity All Star Game

And they look good! Mats Zuccarello's All Star Game in his native Norway was played for the third year today. It's all for charity, of course - and while the fundraising is still in progress, you know everyone who came out got treated to some good hockey. How could they not be, with these two New York Rangers involved? Game time.. #ZuccaASG A photo posted by Henrik Lundqvist (@hank30nyr) on Jun 30, 2016 at 9:10am PDT Henrik Lundqvist was already getting back into the flow of things about two weeks ago, so it's good to see he likely had adequate warmup before once again taking to...
