3 questions with Silver Seven Sens

PensBurgh — Much thanks to Peter from Silver Seven Sens to stop in and catch up before tonight's Pens and Sens game. #1 – I think it’s a bit played out, but your thoughts on Matt Cooke returning to Ottawa? What’s he in for? Also the Penguins may dress their heavyweight fighter Steve MacIntyre for his first NHL game of the season, does Ottawa currently have a pure goon on the roster if those two want to have a pointless dance? Aside from perhaps some booing or heckling from the fans, I doubt Matt Cooke is in for much. He's not going to drop his gloves, anyway, so even if Chris Neil finishes a few...

Silver Nuggets: Revenge a Dish Best Unserved

Silver SevenMatt Cooke is a piece of shit. I'll get that out of the way ahead of time so that none of you get confused during this post. He may have cut down on his head shots, but he's still a reckless rat, and that is his game. That stated, I don't give TWO SHITS about getting revenge on him tonight. You know why? Looked at the standings lately? The Senators need these two points. We need all the points we can possibly get so that we don't have to play the Penguins in round one (again). Which is why, while I love Paul Maclean, I think dressing Matt Kassian tonight would be a fatal mistake. Thi...

A time to rest

PensBurgh — The Pittsburgh Penguins have played 44 games in the lockout shortened season so far this year, and it’s pretty interesting to take a look at the iron man crew that has been able to suit up for all 44 of them. Chris Kunitz, Pascal Dupuis, Brandon Sutter, Matt Cooke, Craig Adams, Brooks Orpik and Tanner Glass. That’s the list. Interestingly, all of those players play with a physical edge. Five of them (Dupuis, Sutter, Adams, Glass and Orpik) are regulars and key components of what’s been a disappointing penalty kill unit this season. Five of the seven guys are 31+ years old and between...
