Leddy returns to Chicago, unable to play former team due to injury

CHICAGO -- New York Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy tried to make the most of his return to Chicago despite not being able to play against his former team. Leddy will sit out Tuesday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks as he continues to work back from a recent upper-body injury. He was able to take part in the morning skate Tuesday at the United Center, take in some of Chicago and meet up with some of his former teammates. “It was good to see the city and to see some of the guys this morning was cool,” said Leddy, who was traded to the Islanders in October.

Nick Leddy will be sidelined at least two weeks

Nick Leddy, the Islanders' most durable defenseman this season, will miss at least two weeks with an upper-body injury. Leddy missed Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Rangers with the injury, suffered in the second period of Monday's overtime win in Toronto, so it's yet another test of the team's depth as the regular season winds down.
