Stanley Cup of Chowder Yesterday, Brad Richards was the second-most-popular buyout page on Capgeek.com. He was behind Roberto Luongo but ahead of Rick DiPietro. And DiPietro's buyout is hilarious. Today? He's the number one. Why? Because Brad Richards - who won the 2004 Conn Smythe under Tortorella in Tampa Bay - has been told he is sitting on press row for tonight's game. In for Richards? Micheal Haley. Or Maybe Kris Newbury. Both of them appear to be replacing Brad Richards and Arron Asham. Asham isn't as much of a surprise as the guy making 12 million dollars this year to play professional hockey. What a ...

Vancouver Sun This time, Roberto Luongo really does hope it's goodbye. Of course, he said so long last year at this time and we all know what happened.

Habs Eyes On The Prize It's not uncommon for NHL Awards voters to get things wrong. In the 2003-2004 season, Martin Brodeur won his second Vezina Trophy. That year, he posted a .917 save percentage in 75 games. The same year, Roberto Luongo had a .931 save percentage in 72 games. Yeah, doesn't get much worse than that. Some day, Roberto Luongo probably won't make the Hall of Fame on account of his lack of individual hardware, and his inability to win a Stanley Cup. For just the opposite reason, Brodeur will likely go down as the "greatest goalie of all time." This is all just a round-about way of conveying h...

Vancouver Sun Cory Schneider’s “body injury” has healed. One of these days, maybe, he’s even going to live down cramping up in Game 6 of the Chicago series, two springtimes ago. The past doesn’t seem to want to let go.
Vancouver Canucks May 5, 2013San Jose Mercury News Canuck backup Roberto Luongo has been good, but Cory Schneider might be available
San Jose Sharks May 4, 2013CBSSports.com Fantasy Roberto Luongo allowed three goals on 33 shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to San Jose in Game 2 of the Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Nucks Misconduct It's pretty bad when the only goals scored by the Canucks through 2 games in this series so far are by Ryan Kesler (2) and Raffi Torres (1). Yea that's right I said Raffi Torres because he scored the only Canucks goal in game 1 and Kevin Bieksa got credit for it. Roberto Luongo is the Canucks' best player of the series so far with (now, anyway) Ryan Kesler a somewhat close 2nd. Kesler was a beast in game 2 after a dismal (sick) game 1, and he and Luongo almost pulled off the win themselves, in a sense. Yea, Kesler and Luongo. Where the hell is everybody else? I can tell you! They are e...
Vancouver Canucks May 4, 2013The White Towel | The Province Roberto Luongo called it a heartbreaker. Vancouver Cancuks fans could have called it just more of the same. A team that always finishes close, but no cigar, did it again Friday, and it was both familiar, and tortuous. “We have …

May 2, 2013Working the Corners | San Jose Mercury News VANCOUVER – As expected, a lot going on today. The big news was the Sharks learning they will be facing veteran goalie Roberto Luongo in Game 1 of their playoff series with the Vancouver Canucks. Players said it didn’t matter whether they would be facing Luongo or Cory Schneider, and Todd...
San Jose Sharks May 1, 2013
Habs Eyes On The Prize Yesterday we had Josh Harding being the unlikely starter for Minnesota, and tonight we have Roberto Luongo being the unlikely starter for the Vancouver Canucks. It's an interesting dynamic as the Canucks absolutely left Luongo out to dry in their last game of the year, leaving him in net for 7 goals against by the putrid Oilers. On the other side, the Sharks boast playoff scoring machine Scott Gomez, who's leadership and presence in the locker room are clearly what got San Jose into the playoffs. Hopefully this one isn't as disappointing as the result from the two earlier games. ...
