Left wing Scott Hartnell had never played in front of a friendly Nationwide Arena crowd before making his debut in a Blue Jackets sweater last night in a 2-0 exhibition victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Still, the 14-year pro carried a fondness for the building with him to Columbus.

Scott Hartnell's hair no longer matches his jersey color and that makes me sad. Just a few days before the 2014 NHL Draft, the Philadelphia Flyers traded a 7-year veteran and assistant captain to the Columbus Blue Jackets for R.J. Umberger and a 4th round pick, a deal that Columbus GM Jarmo Kekalainen absolutely won.
