A year earlier, the Avs clinched in Game 82 -- the regular-season finale -- and entered their first-round series against the President's Trophy-winning Nashville Predators without top defenseman Erik Johnson and No. 1 goalie Semyon Varlamov and very little playoff experience throughout a patchwork lineup.
