Blackhawks recall 8 from Rockford

Chicago Blackhawks Blog | ESPN Chicago — CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks recalled forwards Jimmy Hayes, Jeremy Morin, Brandon Pirri and Ben Smith, defensemen Adam Clendening, Shawn Lalonde and Steve Montador and goaltender Henrik Karlsson from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL on Friday. Hayes had one goal and two assists in nine games with the Blackhawks earlier this season. He had 25 goals and 20 assists in 67 games with the IceHogs this season. Morin had one goal in two games with the Blackhawks earlier this season.

Chicago Blackhawks Blog | ESPN Chicago — The Chicago Blackhawks recalled forward Jimmy Hayes from the Rockford and assigned defenseman Steve Montador to the AHL team on Tuesday. The 23-year-old Hayes has 39 points, including 22 goals and 17 assists, in 58 games for the IceHogs this season. He had a hat trick and two assists on March 9. He had five goals and four assists in 31 games for the Blackhawks last season. Montador cleared waivers on Tuesday, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.

Chicago Blackhawks Blog | ESPN Chicago — The Chicago Blackhawks placed defenseman Steve Montador on waivers on Monday, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun. Montador, who is making $2.75 million, is expected to clear waivers and be assigned to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL. Montador was recently activated and told reporters last week he believed a conditioning stint with the IceHogs was a possibility. Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville was asked Sunday if Montador could go to Rockford, and Quenneville answered, "We'll see.
