Senators defeat Bruins in overtime, win series 4-2

It was tense, but the Sens earned a series win It’s only the second series win of the past decade, and man does it feel sweet. I was tense for 90% of this game, but now that it’s over, I’m so happy. What a spectacular hockey game. The story before the game was the healthy scratching of Chris Wideman in favour of Fredrik Claesson. Wideman had been a constant all year. But then again, Chris Kelly played in all 82 games and played his first playoff game in Game 5 thanks to Tom Pyatt’s injury, and Kelly was again scratched (this time in favour of Tommy Wingels) for Game 6. The story of...

Round 1, Game 6 Preview: Ottawa Senators @ Boston Bruins

Finishing the series, take two After Friday’s stressful 3-2 double overtime loss, the Ottawa Senators look to close out round one against Boston Bruins in their second attempt. Should the Bruins win today, however, this series is headed to seven games. Having finished the last game at 11:30 PM and then hopping on a plane to Boston the next day, both teams should surely be fatigued in preparation for today’s afternoon contest. Viktor Stalberg will be a game-time decision, and Tommy Wingels has been confirmed to play with Tom Pyatt still injured. Should Stalberg play, Kelly will most...

Round 1, Game 5 preview: Boston Bruins @ Ottawa Senators

A preview of the game between the Ottawa Senators and the Boston Bruins on 21 April 2017. The Ottawa Senators will host game five tonight looking to close out their first round series with the Boston Bruins. After losing game one at home, the Senators levelled the series in game two before winning both away games in Boston. All four games have been decided by a single goal though so it will not be easy tonight. The only change for Ottawa is that Chris Kelly will return to the lineup for the injured Tom Pyatt. The Bruins are not expected to have any of their injured defencemen back. Sean...

Pyatt out, Kelly in The question of our Game 5 Hotstove, who replaces Tom Pyatt, appears to have been answered: Chris Kelly Sens lines this morning Dzingel Turris BurrowsHoffman Pageau Stone Stalberg Brassard RyanMacArthur Kelly Smith— Brent Wallace (@tsn_wally) April 21, 2017 The lines also had Zack Smith moving to the wing with Kelly taking the centre. Other than that, it’s pretty much what we saw in game 4.

Full Coverage Round One, Game Five : Boston Bruins at Ottawa Senators

Senators first chance to advance Tom Pyatt left Game 4 after a nasty hit on his first shift. Assuming he's out for Game 5, who should draw in (and who will, if it's not the same answer)? Peter: Given that Tommy Wingels played in Game One, I think we're likely to see him back for Game Five if Pyatt is indeed out (as I suspect he will be). One thing I'd like about seeing Wingels is his physicality; the Bruins' blue line is inexperienced and guys like Chara and Liles have been playing a lot, so it's been a little frustrating to see so many fly-bys where Sens forwards passed up hits. Wingels...

Game 1: Bruins at Senators, Projected Lines

Recent injuries to both teams may shuffle these lineups, but this is the playoffs. Everybody gets banged up, and these teams have a head start. Game day, baby. Playoffs. The day Boston Bruins fans have been waiting for since June 2014. For the opposing Ottawa Senators: Forwards Mike Hoffman - Jean-Gabriel Pageau - Mark Stone Clarke MacArthur - Kyle Turris - Bobby Ryan Alexandre Burrows - Derick Brassard - Viktor Stalberg Tom Pyatt - Zack Smith - Tommy Wingels Questions remain about the health of Stone, Turris, Ryan and Smith; supposedly none are 100%, but we shouldn’t expect anything less...
