Adam Henrique Gets a Bump in Pay, and Maybe in Responsibility as Well

Adam Henrique Gets a Bump in Pay, and Maybe in Responsibility as Well

Adam Henrique hit payday with the Anaheim Ducks, but that may come with a spike in responsibility as well. Whether or not he’s capable of that seems to be an open question. The ink has dried, ensuring that Adam Henrique will be an Anaheim Duck well into the foreseeable future. The 28-year old center, fresh off of a successful first season in southern California, signed a five-year, $29.25 million contract earlier in the week which is set to kick in next summer. Out there obviously but Adam Henrique's five-year contract extension carries a 5.825M AAV.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh)...

Ryan Kesler May Miss The 2018-19 Season, But That Doesn’t Seem To Concern The Anaheim Ducks

An extended Ryan Kesler absence might simply mean lowered expectations for the Anaheim Ducks, and they seem to be fine with that. Ryan Kesler may not play next season. That reality is currently staring right at the Anaheim Ducks, but how much does it actually concern them? Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, one of the pre-eminent insiders of the game, reported that Kesler’s upcoming season was in jeopardy on May 25th. About a month later on draft night, Ducks’ general manager Bob Murray kindly told Friedman to “keep throwing spaghetti at the wall” through an interview with The...

Scott Niedermayer: A Deserving Candidate for a Ducks Number Retirement

Why the smooth skating defenseman deserves to have his legacy enshrined in the rafters of Honda Center. It’s official. 2 of the Ducks greatest captains will watch their numbers rise to the rafters and be immortalized among the greatest to ever put on an Anaheim sweater. Paul Kariya, beloved Mighty Duck who led a scrappy team past a juggernaut Detroit Red Wings team to the franchise’s first Stanley Cup Final and took them to 7 games against one of the greatest hockey teams to ever take the ice, will have few opponents to his number being enshrined in Orange County. Scott Niedermayer is a...

Ducks Summer Signings Leave Door (Mostly) Open For Young Talent

Anaheim Ducks general manager Bob Murray hasn’t taken any big swings in free agency, leaving the door open for some of his younger upstarts to crack the lineup come fall. To no one’s surprise, the Anaheim Ducks remained perimeter players after the opening bell of the free agent market. General manager Bob Murray managed to reap in: Luke Schenn, Brian Gibbons, Carter Rowney, Anton Rodin, Jared Coreau, and Ben Street. Quite clearly, Murray shied away from adding any big names to his existing roster. Whether it was that the price was too high — even though Anaheim had the means to nab a...

The New Guys

The New Guys

After being quiet over the weekend frenzy, the Ducks end Monday signing six new players. Don’t get too excited. With all the free agency frenzy over the likes of Tavares, Drew Doughty, JVR, and all the other guys out there, the Anaheim Ducks front office was relatively quite throughout the weekend. That is besides the one exception being the exchange of forward Nic Kerdiles for former Winnipeg Jet and So-Cal native Chase De Leo. But I guess the Ducks management decided to take the weekend off and perhaps resume work on Monday because they end today with six new faces. Here’s the brief...
