Head Coach Hunt: Rocky Thompson

Head Coach Hunt: Rocky Thompson

The current Chicago Wolves head coach could be a dark horse candidate for the job in Anaheim. Rocky Thompson Age: 41 NHL Coaching Record: N/A AHL Coaching Record: 167-85-36 Call him a “dark horse” candidate, as there is no known connection to the Anaheim Ducks, but Rocky Thompson has been making some waves in the lower level coaching ranks. Maybe, just maybe he gets his first shot as an NHL coach in Anaheim. Rocky Thompson was a hard-nosed player who was known for his fiery playing style, dropping the gloves in the prototypical enforcer role. He had a couple cups of coffee in the NHL...

Entry Draft Options: Cole Caufield

Entry Draft Options: Cole Caufield

The Ducks need someone who can score. And oh boy, does this kid score. The Ducks could use a future number one center. We all know this. Sam Steel has shown some early promise, but no one can definitively say that he will ever be able to take over the Ryan Getzlaf role down the line. At the most basic level, what the Ducks need more than anything else, is someone who can put the puck in the net. A lot. Anaheim ranked 24th in goals for over the last three seasons. That’s not going to cut it if Bob Murray wants to bring a championship back to Orange County. Cole Caufield is small. Looking...

Head Coach Hunt: Dallas Eakins

A look at what the San Diego Gulls bench boss could bring to Anaheim Dallas Eakins Age: 52 NHL Coaching Record: 36-63-14 AHL Coaching Record: 311-209-64 Dallas Eakins has driven some divisive opinions within the Ducks fanbase ever since he signed a multi-year extension (rumored to be three years) to continue coaching the San Diego Gulls. On one side are the people who look at his track record in the AHL as a coach who has led the Gulls to a 154-95-23 record over four seasons and who’s teams tend to play a high-octane, exciting game with players who almost universally rave about the type...

Fans Ducked by Anaheim Over the Moon After Honeymoon Redo

Fans Ducked by Anaheim Over the Moon After Honeymoon Redo

Two Ducks fans on their honeymoon went viral and got an incredible offer to make up for witnessing the team’s struggles. The Anaheim Ducks’ Canadian road trip from February 2nd-February 9th was arguably the lowest point of a disastrous season. The five-game trip saw the team lose every single game by an average of almost four and a half goals. It was so bad that a 4-1 loss in Montreal prompted Bob Murray to set the wheels in motion to a plan that would see the end of Randy Carlyle 2.0 in Anaheim. While most Ducks fans could simply turn off the TV and flip over to The Voice, one newlywed...

Entry Draft Options: Alex Turcotte

A talented all-around Center who projects as a safe second line pivot The University of Wisconsin commit has had an explosive year with the USNDP and is projected to go anywhere from fourth overall to tenth. His talent and numbers are undeniable and despite his College commitment - if he is available when the Ducks select 9th - he would be a steal and worth waiting for when done with his tertiary study. The Illinois native has had a rough draft year after missing 22 games with injury but he bounced back to finish behind Hughes and Zegras on the team in points per game. Alex...
