Khabibulin plans to attend Oilers training camp

Edmonton Journal — An appeal of Nikolai Khabibulin’s drunk driving conviction in an Arizona court has left the Oilers’ goaltending situation in a holding pattern. GM Steve Tambellini told reporters he couldn’t and wouldn’t speak in detail on the matter since it is still before the courts. Khabibulin had earlier Tuesday received the minimum 30-day jail sentence in Scottsdale Municipal Court.

Khabibulin sentenced to one month in jail for drunk driving

Edmonton Journal — Oilers goalie Nikolai Khabibulin was sentenced to a month in jail on Tuesday for driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. On Aug. 27, Khabibulin was found guilty of three charges: driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol count of .08 or more, excessive speeding and extreme driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of .15 or more.
