Why a trade for Jeff Skinner and Justin Faulk makes sense for the Golden Knights

Why a trade for Jeff Skinner and Justin Faulk makes sense for the Golden Knights

With Tampa Bay and Dallas crowding the Golden Knights out of the Erik Karlsson race, Justin Faulk and Jeff Skinner could make an excellent alternative. It appears Erik Karlsson is out the Ottawa Senators’ door, but he may not be headed to the Golden Knights. Both the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning have entered the fray, and though the Golden Knights have kept battling for Karlsson’s services, it appears as if Vegas is no longer in favor. And that might not be a bad thing. Karlsson is the only defenseman worth trading Shea Theodore for. But if the Golden Knights can keep Theodore...

Meet the New Guy: Getting to know Golden Knights center Paul Stastny

What does Stastny bring to the table? The Golden Knights signed center Paul Stastny to a three-year, $19.5 million contract Sunday. Stastny, formerly of the Avalanche, Blues and Jets, is coming off a solid 2017-18 campaign in which he scored 16 goals and 53 points in 82 games. Though he’s a bit older (he’ll turn 33 in December), Stastny figures to play a huge role for the Knights next season, especially with forwards James Neal and David Perron signing with the Flames and Blues, respectively. With Stastny having played for two different teams last season, we reached out to Arctic Ice...

Let’s jump right in and get to your Golden Knights questions. Do you think Tomas Tatar will score as many points this year as Perron did last year as he fills into that position ?— Tom Wiesner Jr (@TWvegas66) July 8, 2018 Truthfully, I don’t think Tatar will be able to top what David Perron did last season. Perron led all Golden Knights players with 50 assists and finished behind only William Karlsson and Jonathan...

Golden Knights sign defenseman Colin Miller to 4-year, $15.5 million deal

The 25-year-old led Vegas blue liners with 41 points in the 2017-18 season. Vegas’ first major RFA has signed. Golden Knights defenseman Colin Miller will now be with the team for another four seasons, for an average annual value (AAV) of $3.875 million. It was only a matter of time before Vegas put pen to paper with the 25-year-old, as there are very few players who ever make it to arbitration after filing. The right-handed defenseman led the Golden Knights back end with 41 points, 10 goals, and tied for the team lead with Nate Schmidt in assists (31). Inking this contract means that...

Oscar Dansk signs two-year deal with Golden Knights

Vegas has locked up its third-string goaltender to a two-year contract. Oscar Dansk, the Golden Knights’ third-string goaltender and the Chicago Wolves’ starting goaltender, has signed a two-year deal. Dansk posted a .918 save percentage and 2.44 goals against average in 20 games in the AHL, along with a 1.78 goals against average and .946 save percentage in four games in the NHL. The goaltender’s two-year deal is worth an average annual value of $675,000. That’s not half bad for a young goaltender like Dansk, and it keeps him in the system. At the end of his contract, Dansk will...
