Tom Jurich to be officially fired as Louisville Cardinals AD, per report

Tom Jurich’s reign over Louisville appears to be over. Out of all of the coaches, the administration, and faculty members at the University of Louisville, there was one person that I thought was untouchable: Tom Jurich. That no longer seems to be the case as sources have told radio personality Terry Meiners that tomorrow the Louisville Board of Trustees will hand Jurich his walking papers: SOURCE: Negotiations cease, Tom Jurich to be fired "with cause" at Wednesday's UofL board of trustees meeting— Terry Meiners (@terrymeiners) October 17, 2017 Meiners is as plugged in as anyone in...

Trae Young’s father speaks on college basketball scandal and Trae’s recruitment

The one-time UK target wasn’t taking any handouts, but they were available to him. Trae Young was the most sought-after point guard in the class of 2017. All the blue-bloods had interest, including the Kentucky Wildcats, who at one point had Young atop their point guard big board. UK ultimately took Quade Green, and Young ended up staying home and committing to Oklahoma. Since then, coaches from schools that recruited him have been hit with allegations and charges of bribery in an FBI scandal that’s rocking the college basketball world. In a recent interview with The Norman...

With yet another NBA season here, it’s time to check in and see where the former Cats will be suiting up and their prospects for the upcoming season. Recently, I took a look at 14 of the former Kentucky Wildcats with NBA contracts. As I warned then, some of the statuses may change quickly as NBA teams had some roster moves to make still Isaiah Briscoe and Archie Goodwin were cut by the Trailblazers as the team decided to keep their 15th spot open. There is a good chance both teams sign a G League contract this year. However, it does look as if Andrew Harrison is going to make the roster...

NCAA Basketball: NBA Draft One and Done nearing its end

NCAA Basketball: NBA Draft One and Done nearing its end

Will we see the next AD & MKG for two years in college or none at all? Adam Silver is looking to eliminate one of the most questionable rules for high school players looking to turn pro — the one and done rule — but could that be a bad thing for the University of Kentucky? The rule that forces high school players to spend one year in college basketball before going to the NBA may be close to ending. In 2006, the NBA put a rule in place that made a player have to be 19 or one year removed from playing high school basketball before they were eligible for the draft. A rule that has come...

More shoes will drop, so schools are scrambling to make sure they won’t be involved. In a new Associated Press exclusive, the AP found that 28 programs have enacted internal reviews on their basketball programs to check for rules violations and other potential concerns. Of the 84 schools that the AP reached out to, 63 responded, and of those, 28 said the FBI probe prompted their own internal reviews, as well as the PAC-12 conference as a whole. A full list of how each school responded is not available, but the report mentions Alabama, Auburn, Arizona, Oklahoma State, and Southern Cal as...

The buzz continues to be all Kentucky with the elite wing. Immanuel Quickley continues to be a powerful recruiter for the Kentucky Wildcats. 5 things Kentucky Wildcats must fix coming out of bye week

5 things Kentucky Wildcats must fix coming out of bye week

The Cats have a lot of work to do if they’re going to build on what’s been a great start. Aside from a devastating fourth quarter against the Florida Gators, the Kentucky Wildcats have been unblemished but far from perfect through the first half of the 2017 football season. Stellar quarterback play from senior Stephen Johnson, ferocious front-7 play from “Blitz Bro” Josh Allen and the emergence of Eli Brown in Jordan Jones’s spot have been the highlights through six games. Not to mention is second in the SEC in the turnover margin (+8), just behind the top team in college...
