Jaguars will unveil new uniform color combination vs. Titans

Jaguars will unveil new uniform color combination vs. Titans

Teal pants and white top, eh? The Jacksonville Jaguars have quite a few color combinations of their new uniform in their arsenal and they’ve already used two of them — going all white with black numbers and lettering in Week 1 and then going teal top and white pants in Week 2. And now for Week 3 it’s the opposite of last week — teal pants, white tops, black numbers and lettering. We're premiering a new uniform combo this weekend against the Titans:White tops, teal pants. pic.twitter.com/CNjQViUrym— #DUUUVAL (@Jaguars) September 19, 2018 What do you think about the white tops...

ALL ABOARD THE BOAT - S.S. Duval is here

ALL ABOARD! The S.S. Duval is now in port and ready to traverse the AFC South right back to the promised land and hoping to avoid another ice berg in the AFC Championship game this season. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles, who has affectionately been nicknamed the BOAT, diced up the New England Patriots last Sunday, including four touchdown passes and a handful of impressive timely runs. From the start of the game until the fourth quarter when he was still firing bombs down field, he did whatever he wanted against them and kept the offense moving. We’ve been waiting for the...

Michael Dunn signs to Jaguars practice squad

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed first-year offensive lineman Michael Dunn to the practice squad, the club announced today. The Jaguars now have a full 10-man practice squad. We have signed first-year OL Michael Dunn to our practice squad.— #DUUUVAL (@Jaguars) September 19, 2018 Dunn, 6-5, 300, spent part of training camp with the Jaguars before being waived on September 1. He attended the University of Maryland and originally signed as an undrafted rookie with the Los Angeles Rams in 2017. Dunn spent time with the Rams during the 2017 preseason and 2018 offseason. Dunn will...

Titans vs. Jaguars series history

Titans vs. Jaguars series history

The TennesseeTitans were a constant thorn in the side of the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. Despite Jacksonville’s surprising success, the Titans owned the Jags in 2017. The AFC South rivals are plenty familiar with each other, and each team often wins one game a piece in the season series. Sunday’s matchup will be the 48th all-time matchup (including playoffs). Like we do every week, let’s review the head-to-head history in this closely contested series. Series history All-time regular season series record: Titans lead 26-20 Postseason Record: Titans lead 1-0 Last Jaguars win:...

Titans are Jaguars perfect follow up opponent

Titans are Jaguars perfect follow up opponent

There has already been some chatter about being worried about the Jacksonville Jaguars having a let down game this week against the Tennessee Titans. After the emotional high of beating the New England Patriots so thoroughly, many worry they’ll be riding high and over look the Titans. The Jaguars had something to prove to the Patriots and everyone else, that they deserve to be in the conversation for the best team in the NFL but against the Titans it’s just a ho-hum divisional game and they could overlook them. You wouldn’t be more incorrect. “We’re going to sweep the division...

Jags almost a TD favorite

Jags almost a TD favorite

The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off an impressive dismantling of the New England Patriots last Sunday, beating them 31-20 in a game that really wasn’t even that close. That momentum has carried forward to the betting lines this week as the Jaguars find themselves a 6.5 point favorite over the incoming Tennessee Titans to TIAA Bank Field. The Jaguars have been impressive the first two weeks of the season, more so against the Patriots where both sides of the ball seemed to fire on all cylinders and the Titans have looked... less than impressive we’ll say. It’s interesting there was...

Jaguars film room: Man to man defense

Jaguars film room: Man to man defense

The Jaguars defense didn’t have an easy day against the Giants in Week 1. We all knew the offense with Pat Shurmur was going to be similar to the San Francisco offense of last season, which is a Dump and Run with crossing routes and when ran perfectly timed routes. They meticulously pick apart zone and they know how to isolate 1 on 1’s against man to man defense. It looked like there was a pick involved with almost every single one of Odell Beckham’s routes. Jalen Ramsey and others had some trouble just getting around the LBs when lined up across him. Jaguars are 2-0 this season....

Mumblings of The Village Idiot: Nice win, let’s move on

Mumblings of The Village Idiot: Nice win, let’s move on

If you have to belittle the team that beat you, you’re a bigger loser. Sometimes you have to let the 24 hour rule extend just a bit longer. So here we are, closing in on 48 hours since the Jaguars turned a metaphorical corner. No longer can we see the 8-8 years of Jack Del Rio. The smell of the Gus Bradley era is barely noticeable. Beating the New England Patriots was an important step in showing this team is good, as opposed to speculating on that belief. And it means very little in the grand scheme of things. The fans might want to stay on the mountain top a bit longer, but for the...

Is Keelan Cole the NFL’s next big-time receiver?

Is Keelan Cole the NFL’s next big-time receiver?

Catch of the year? We’ve all seen Keelan Cole’s absolute jewel of a grab at least one hundred times over the past twenty-four hours. Cole towered over New England Patriots cornerback Eric Rowe with a perfectly timed jump and enveloped the Duke like it was a tennis ball in a hypnagogic moment that put time at an absolute standstill. When the Jacksonville Jaguars opened up their preliminary media availability at the beginning of the 2018 offseason, one of the names were not like the others. Despite finishing the 2017 season with the highest yards per catch in the entire NFL (18.4), not...

Week 2 PFF insights: Fowler is highest graded edge defender

Pro Football Focus is charting everything when it comes to the 2018 NFL regular season and that includes the Week 2 home opener between the Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots. So who was the cream of the crop on Sunday? Let’s check it out! Offense Blake Bortles led his team to victory with four touchdowns, three of which came from a clean pocket and a 90.4 offensive grade which was the fourth highest by a quarterback this week. His play under pressure was also impressive against the Patriots, he ranked seventh in Week 2 with 111 passing yards under pressure and ranked ninth...

Jaguars stand firm at the top of the AFC South

The Jacksonville Jaguars hold firm in first place of the AFC South after their impressive victory over the New England Patriots. The rest of the division on Sunday looked... not so impressive. Lets take a spin around the AFC South and see how the rest of the division is shaking out. Houston Texans 17, Tennessee Titans 20 I went back and watched the 30-minute cut up of this game and buddy,,,,,, I wish I hadn’t. This was an abysmal game to watch and both teams just look bad. The Texans offensive line is awful and Deshaun Watson has no shot most of the time and they can’t run the ball....

Jags hopeful Fournette returns this week

Jags hopeful Fournette returns this week

The Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t seem to miss running back Leonard Fournette last week, as they completely demolished the New England Patriots on offense. Fournette was always questionable leading up to the game on Sunday and was going to be a game time decision, but the team apparently erred on the side of caution and not making the hamstring issue worse than it already was and deactivated him. “I was really optimistic last week and obviously I was wrong. That’s the one thing that kicks me in the butt all the time now,” Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said on Monday when asked about...

Marrone to fans: “They can be proud to wear that shirt on Monday”

The Jacksonville Jaguars opened up TIAA Bank Field yesterday for their home opener and dominated the reigning AFC champion New England Patriots — and head coach Doug Marrone gave one of his longest, most substantive quotes in the day after press conference praising the fans who showed up for the hottest game in franchise history. “I still talk about the fans. I have never seen a team win a lot of games at home that doesn’t have the support. I think the fans were outstanding. It’s an important part. I know we’re a young football team. I know our fans fire us up. I hate to say that...

Gipson, not Ramsey, is the one who shut down Gronk

Gipson, not Ramsey, is the one who shut down Gronk

The Jacksonville Jaguars dismantled the New England Patriots on Sunday, shutting down almost every aspect of their team on Sunday. More specifically, the Jaguars defense limited the Patriots passing game to the point that they needed junk yards at the end of them game to pad them up. One player who didn’t get his numbers padded was tight end Rob Gronkowski, in big part because safety Tashaun Gipson, not Jalen Ramsey, was locked on him most of the game. “I told y’all. The mystery was over. Everyone said who is going to guard No. 87? Just run the tape. I don’t know how many passes he...
