Johnson: Steelers' offense going to air things out
Mitch Trubisky dropped back to pass early in Thursday's final training camp practice here at Saint Vincent College and let a pass fly deep over the middle. Diontae Johnson, who had gotten a step on the corner covering him, easily ran under the ball and continued down the middle of the field to the end zone, much to the delight of the crowd on hand. It's something we didn't see a lot of from the Steelers' offense in 2021, but we might see more of in 2022 as the team moves on from the Ben Roethlisberger era.
Camp report: Pickett earns second-team reps for Jacksonville game
As the Steelers wrapped training camp at Saint Vincent College Thursday, there was little doubt that Mitch Trubisky would be named the starter for Saturday's preseason tilt in Jacksonville. But after spending much of the week practicing with the second-team offense, Mike Tomlin confirmed Thursday that Kenny Pickett will immediately follow Trubisky against the Jaguars, leaving Mason Rudolph to finish the game with the third team.

Contreras 'focused on the mission' after break from majors threw him off
Roansy Contreras' final pitch Wednesday night was a spiked curveball. Enrique Hernandez chased, catcher Jason Delay blocked it and the 22-year-old right-hander walked off the mound at PNC Park. The last two words of that sentence were the most important.

Drive to the Net: Is Puustinen Penguins' most intriguing prospect?
It's no secret the Penguins' prospect pool is, well ... barren. With no disrespect to NHL-ready Drew O'Connor, Radim Zohorna and P.O Joseph, the Penguins lack projectable high-end star talent in their system. Could Valtteri Puustinen have the greatest potential of them all?
Lolley: Steelers to drop a dime on opponents
The Steelers always want to put their best 11 players on the field offensively and defensively, much like any team. And as they head into the final day of their training camp here at Saint Vincent College, it's looking increasingly more like their best 11 guys on defense might include six defensive backs.

Camp report: Steelers have great depth at receiver ... again
Of all of the things the Steelers do well, finding receivers is among what they do best. In addition to the locks atop the depth chart, the Steelers are going to have a hard time choosing only five or six guys for the 53-man roster.

Keller downplays exit with shoulder fatigue after two low-octane innings
Mitch Keller insisted there wasn't pain, but he also wasn't denying something didn't feel right. He was removed after two innings of the Pirates' eventual 5-3 loss to the Red Sox on this Tuesday night at PNC Park, with Derek Shelton describing the issue as right shoulder "fatigue," and deeming Keller's status to be "day to day."
Mike's Beer Bar War Room: Offensive line must take next step forward
The Steelers' offensive line is the weakest position group on the roster. The offensive line reaching its full potential could pay bigger dividends than any other position group doing so, but so far they're leaving more to be desired. A step in the right direction from the O-line would be a massive step in the right direction for the entire team.
