And The Valley Shook

GAMETHREAD: Baseball vs Northwestern St., 6:30pm, SECN+

And so we’ve come to the end, the last (barring a miracle) home game for the LSU Tigers in 2018. While the 2-1 win over Bama this weekend wasn’t a total disaster, LSU’s RPI still fell to 50 and they’ve almost guaranteed they’ll be starting the SEC tournament early in one of the Tuesday opening round games. It was nice to see a few bats wake up this weekend, with Daniel Cabrera’s stellar performance earning him SEC Freshman of the week honors, but injuries continue to decimate the pitching staff. AJ Labas was supposed to start Sunday, but shoulder soreness pulled him from the...

Spring Check-In: Ole Miss

We get some deets on how spring practice went in Oxford with Red Cup Rebellion’s Jim Lohmar. 1. Wait, why the hell are we playing y’all in September this year? What did you do to Shea Patterson this time? I believe the last time we spoke, LSU throttled Ole Miss to the tune of 40-24 in Oxford. That night, you may recall, saw the Tigers run wild for 593 total yards of offense. Further still, in what in retrospect proved imminently prescient, Shea Patterson tweaked his knee late in the first half and had to be helped off the field. He would later have season-ending surgery to repair his...

Auburn starting QB Jarrett Stidham about to ‘be turned loose’

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — After a spring of mostly standing around and watching, Jarrett Stidham is about to be the full-strength starting quarterback of Auburn football again. Auburn football ‘expecting full recovery’ from Jordyn Peters, Jeremiah Dinson

MOBILE, Ala. — Following Auburn’s A-Day, Gus Malzahn was unsure of the severity of injuries suffered by a couple of the Tigers defensive backs. Clemson’s Brad Brownell Is Feeling Optimistic

And there’s no reason why he shouldn’t Clemson had a really outstanding year and arguably only injuries kept the Tigers from the greatest year in Clemson history. Brad Brownell spoke in Columbia this week and has a message and we absolutely agree with him: you can achieve your basketball dreams at Clemson. It’s a pitch he can make to recruits now and back it up. They’re coming off a really successful year, Littlejohn is revitalized and a lot of things are going Clemson’s way right now. This kind of underscores our point. Almost any school, if it finds the right guy, can be...

Three takeaways from LSU’s spring game

More thoughts on LSU’s spring wrap-up. Despite 55 combined points between the White and Purple teams, LSU’s spring game still didn’t answer the question everyone wanted to be answered in a close 28-27 finish. With an offense that isn’t even halfway installed and injuries on the offensive line it was somewhat expected for the offense to struggle at times. However, players on both sides showed out while some disappointed. Starting quarterback still in question The Tigers quarterback spot was marred by inconsistent play throughout the spring, and it showed again Saturday. Sophomore...
