Was not signing Dallas Keuchel a mistake?

Photo by Rob Carr/ Taking a look back to see if the Astros missed an opportunity for signing Keuchel Yes it’s middle of September and the Astros are basically guaranteed a playoff spot and have the best odds to win the World Series. If the Astros had signed Keuchel for the same deal that the Braves did, they would not have had to swing a Zack Greinke trade. The butterfly effect of this move is huge from a prospects, salary, and even performance perspective. Greinke has a fairly large salary which most would conclude will take us out of the running in re-signing Cole. Keuchel on the...

Astros: Kyle Tucker 2019 – The Sequel, a big success

The original release in 2018, Kyle Tucker Makes Astros Debut, didn’t do well. Some considered it a flop and wondered if Part II was worth a shot. It was. Astros News: Yes, more injury updates...and an agent change?

Photo by Dylan Buell/ When will the injury bug leave the Astros alone? And Carlos Correa is switching agents. “Mild concussion” for George Springer Just when it feels like the Astros are inching closer to regaining their collective health, another injury seems to develop that further throws the plan into disarray. We’ve seen it a couple of times with Aledmys Diaz and Carlos Correa this season. Collin McHugh has seen the IL twice already this season. Brad Peacock is another oft-injured player in 2019. Unfortunately, it is George Springer who’ll find himself missing some time due...

Series Preview: Arizona Diamondbacks @ Milwaukee Brewers

Photo by Jennifer Stewart/ The Brewers hope to gain momentum in the playoff race against a team hanging around .500 It was a weird trade deadline this year for a lot of reasons, but the Arizona Diamondbacks might’ve had one of the weirdest deadlines. They kinda-sorta sold, trading Zack Greinke to the Houston Astros. But that trade may have been as much about getting out from Greinke’s contract as anything, as they also traded for one of the few starting pitchers who got moved at the deadline in Mike Leake. After a month of rumors, they didn’t trade Robbie Ray, and then went out and...

Photo by Cody Glenn/Icon Sportswire via Gleyber Torres went 4-for-4, but it wasn’t enough to propel the Yanks to victory. The Yankees dropped the first two games of this three-game set in Oakland, and gave Masahiro Tanaka the ball in order to prevent the sweep. Tanner Roark was on the mound for the A’s, who has been a great trade deadline acquisition and was coming off a quality start against the Astros. The game did not start the way New York wanted it to, however, as Tanaka got himself into trouble fast. The A’s loaded the bases in the first inning with no one out for Matt...
