Those Last 8.1 Seconds Of The Duke-UCF Thriller

Talk about close shaves When you watch the last 8.1 seconds of the Duke-UCF game closely you notice a few things. First, it was a good thing that Zion Williamson fouled Tacko Fall out on Duke’s last possession other than the final rebound. Second, UCF wanted to get the ball to point guard BJ Taylor and ran him through a screen set by #35 Colin Smith which was intended to pick off Tre Jones. Jones went around it though and forced Taylor out farther than expected, out into the March Madness logo (his foot was in the H). We’ve talked before about how Jones has a knack for running in a...

Willie Cauley-Stein salutes Kentucky with his shoes

March Madness was a great time to break these out. These days the NBA has plenty examples of players making fashion statements, and Willie Cauley-Stein is definitely known as a guy that is interested in his style. Tonight, he wore a pair of shoes that commemorated his time on the 2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats team and they were ridiculously cool. I have to admit, sometimes Willie can get a little questionable with his wardrobe decisions, but these shoes looked great and were a special way to honor his former team during March Madness. The scripting on the shoes read “Willie Cauley Stein...

Sister Jean picks Kentucky to make the Final Four

That’s a good endorsement to have. The best part about March Madness are the Cinderella teams that come out of nowhere and make a run in the NCAA Tournament. In 2018, the Ramblers of Loyola-Chicago stole the show and danced themselves all the way to the Final Four with wins over Miami, Tennessee, Nevada and Kansas State before losing to Michigan in the national semifinals. It’s usually just the team that wins over the nation, but the Ramblers were different as their team chaplain Jean Schmidt, a.k.a Sister Jean, became a celebrity on college basketball’s biggest stage. Even...

March Madness Day Two: Schedule, TV, And Open Thread

Day One in the NCAA Tournament was mostly about upsets that weren’t. Several underdogs and mid-majors made a run at higher seeded teams only to fumble away their chances at a big win. The SEC on the other hand finished the day 4-0, which I guess is a bit of solace for Bulldog fans who watched their team get pummeled by those teams this season. We got that go No for us I suppose. The full television schedule can be found here. Feel free to spend your Friday with us rooting for your bracket winners, or just general chaos. Either works. Go ‘Dawgs!!!
