The Yankees could bolster their lineup with one of these free agents

With Gio Gonzalez being the most notable signing to combat our battle with injuries, the Yankees could look into adding another piece through free agency. Back in March when CC Sabathia and Luis Severino were both on the injured list, the Yankees signed Gio Gonzalez to a minor league contract. The move added pitching depth to a roster that couldn’t foresee how many injuries were to come. It isn’t unusual for the Yankees’ front office to go out and sign a veteran player. With so many new injuries since the Gonzalez signing, it might be time to once again look into who is available....

Anthony Rendon and the Washington Nationals’ brass reportedly met once again to discuss a possible extension that will keep the 2011 1st Round pick in D.C. beyond 2019... Now-former Nationals’ outfielder and 2010 No. 1 overall pick Bryce Harper talked to veteran Washington Post columnist Barry Svrluga, after leaving D.C. via free agency and signing a 13-year/$330M deal with Philadelphia’s Phillies, about his slightly confusing negotiations at the end of the 2018 campaign. As Harper explained it, the rumored 10-year/$300M deal the Nationals offered during the final home game of the...

Alexander: Yasiel Puig remains a fan favorite, but Dodgers don’t miss him

Maybe the sting of being traded, coupled with the prospect of free agency, will lead to a monster season for Puig after six seasons of occasional greatness mixed with frustration, but he hasn't shaken his penchant for tardiness.

Blue Jays 5, Twins 3: Spoiled by the Bullpen

Do you hear that? It’s all the Twins fans typing on Twitter about free agent Craig Kimbrel Going into the season, it was easy to point to which area of the 2019 Twins team was the most unproven. The front office added some talent to the lineup and the starting rotation looked to be at least serviceable with Gibson and Berrios returning and some other potential talent in the back half. The bullpen was a question mark though, and the Twins added just Blake Parker to the mix in a free agency pool that had a quite a few quality relievers. The bullpen got off to a pretty solid start of the...

The Toronto Blue Jays have made the trip to Target Field for a four-game series. Last year, the Jays finished well below .500, with 93 losses (just wait until you hear how many losses our next opponent had). The league’s Canadian squad is squarely in rebuild mode, having traded away big-name players like Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki last season, and losing pitcher Marco Estrada in free agency. They fired manager John Gibbons...

Young players are getting paid, is the Twins core next? Times are changing in the baseball world - financially, that is. Amid the upcoming rule changes and start of a new season, talk about baseball’s financial turbulence has gone to the back burner. That phenomenon is the contract extension for the young player who hasn’t yet hit...

Dallas Keuchel still makes a ton of sense for the Mets

The Mets are off to a good start and can make their team better in free agency. The Mets’ season has gotten off to a great start, and that’s yet another reason that it would make sense for the team to sign Dallas Keuchel. The 31-year-old lefty is somehow still a free agent, and he would give the Mets an instant and obvious upgrade to their starting rotation. On Tuesday night in Miami, Jason Vargas gave up two runs in five innings of work despite the fact that he gave up eight hits, issued a walk, and only struck out two Marlins hitters. Even some of the outs he got came on balls that...
