Oscar Tshiebwe picks West Virginia over Kentucky

After growing up in the Congo, it hasn’t taken Tshiebwe long to skyrocket up the 2019 rankings with no signs of slowing down. Another day, another big man off the board for the Kentucky Wildcats. On Saturday, five-star center Oscar Tshiebwe announced his commitment to the West Virginia Mountaineers. Ahead of the decision, Tshiebwe had cut his list down to Kentucky, West Virginia, Illinois, and Baylor, though it was widely believed to be a two-horse race between the Wildcats and Mountaineers. There is an interesting backstory as to why the Mountaineers overcame the allure of John...

The consensus five star talent chose the Mountaineers over Illinois, Baylor, and most importantly, a late push by John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. Aidan Igiehon picks Louisville Cardinals

The Irish big man makes his decision. Aidan Igiehon has made his decision. On Friday, the four-star center announced his commitment to the Louisville Cardinals. The Kentucky Wildcats were among his finalists, but Igiehon didn’t have a committable offer from John Calipari. Igiehon has been one of the more intriguing recruits to follow in this class because of his journey to American basketball. The 6-10 center traveled all the way from his home country of Ireland before arriving in the United States at the age of 13 years old. As you may expect, it was not the easiest of transitions for...

On the one-year anniversary of #AyoDay...

365 words for the 365 days since Ayo’s commitment. October 19, 2017 — or forever known to us, #AyoDay. We, as Illini fans, anxiously watched as a five-star point guard out of Chicago was choosing between our Illinois Fighting Illini and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. We know how the story played out. Ayo chose the Illini. He signed early. Brad Underwood, months removed from gaining Illinois’ 2017 Mr. Basketball (Mark Smith), caught his big fish, and the Illini were going somewhere. And then came a dismal season. Four conference wins. A handful of transfers out of the program....

Texas continues to evaluate options along the OL

With two commits and only two uncommitted prospects holding Horns offers, the staff is taking things slowly in the offensive trenches. With roughly two months until the early signing period, the Texas Longhorns are in something of a holding pattern with offensive line recruiting as position coach Herb Hand and the rest of the staff continues to evaluate prospects, particularly at the junior college level. Since the Longhorns hold commitments from talented tackles Tyler Johnson (Conroe Oak Ridge) and Javonne Shepherd (North Forest), the staff can afford to take its time with...

Having played at both schools, graduate transfer G Danni Williams has the perfect take on the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry

“I feel like they’ve kind of moved on, and A&M is still a little… mad, I guess you could say.” U mad? The common refrain on social media took on a little added significance on Wednesday evening following the Texas Tip-Off when graduate transfer senior guard Danni Williams was asked about the rivalry between the Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies.
