Examining the value and fit of the Giants off-season moves

Looking at the GIants offseason moves and what they potentially say about Dave Gettleman’s roster building plan. The Giants free-agency activity thus far has been anything but sexy, but if we are to believe that general manager Dave Gettleman has a plan, it would appear from the outside looking in that the moves made thus far indicate more of a build than a rebuild. As of March 23, the Giants have re-signed six of their own unrestricted free agents from last year, have lost seven to other teams and have signed four newcomers who were with other teams in 2018. There was, of course, also...

5 Qs with Bucs Nation: Safety Andrew Adams has potential with Detroit Lions

Did the Lions get themselves a diamond in the rough in free agency? Alright, Detroit Lions fans. It’s second wave time. The Lions appear to be done with the big splash signings they were making in the first week of free agency. Now it’s all about good depth and signing players that were square pegs elsewhere, but could possibly thrive in the Lions system. Which brings us to Andrew Adams. The young safety has bounced around the league a little since coming in undrafted in 2016. He’s spent time with both the Giants and Buccaneers. It was his 2018 season in which he notched nine pass...

The Cowboys have been passed in Tim Cowlishaw's NFC East rankings, but here's how Dallas can catch up (for now)

It's that time of year where we like to take a post-playoffs, pre-OTA, post-free agency (for the most part), pre-draft examination of the NFC East. In other words, it's March so let's see who's caught the Cowboys and who isn't even trying.Reverse order is always the most fun which takes us right to the Big Apple.4. New YorkGM Dave Gettleman, a man under siege right now, tells us, "Trust me, there's a plan here.'' I actually believe him although I don't think that plan involves the Giants being remotely good until 2020.On the one hand, the Giants have 12 picks in next month's draft and will...

An excited Jabrill Peppers will give the Giants his best

Safety is making his homecoming to New Jersey On the eve of the 2019 NFL Free agency period New York Giants GM Dave Gettleman executed a trade that could change the course of the Giants’ franchise for the next decade — and certainly changed how the 2019 season will play out. NFL Free Agency: Redskins hosting OT Ereck Flowers for FA visit

Why? The Redskins will host former Giants/ Jaguars OT Ereck Flowers tonight for a free agent visit tonight. The Giants famously panic-picked Flowers in the 2015 draft at #9 after the Redskins took Brandon Scherff 5th overall. Scherff was reportedly their target and they made a massive reach by taking Flowers in the top 10. Flowers has predictably been a massive bust in the NFL. The Giants moved him to right tackle and then moved him off the roster in the final year of his rookie contract. He signed with the Jaguars in October last year, and started 7 games for them.
