The Bruins today named Providence (AHL) coach Kevin Dean as an assistant coach on Bruce Cassidy's staff, filling the post left vacant when Cassidy was promoted in February to be Claude Julien's replacement.The 48-year-old Dean is a former NHL defenseman, who spent four seasons under Cassidy as a P-Bruins assistant, before taking over the head coaching duties this past season. Dean led the team to a 43-23-6 record and a berth in the 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs.
