T.J. Clemmings subs at right tackle in Raiders’ loss

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — T.J. Clemmings’ first game experience with the Raiders came suddenly. With starting right tackle Donald Penn being evaluated for a concussion in the second quarter Sunday, Clemmings entered and played the rest of the way in Oakland’s 28-20 loss to the Dolphins. “We’re mentally prepared for it,” Clemmings, 26, said of playing as a backup. “It is tough. You want to be able to go in there and help the team get to a victory.” Clemmings, whom the Raiders claimed off waivers on Sept. 2 from Pittsburgh, played in six games, making two starts, last year in...

Raiders vs. Dolphins second half open thread

For the third week in a row, the Oakland Raiders hold a halftime lead. They are up 10-7 in Miami. The only touchdown for the Raiders came on a 12-yard pass from Derek Carr to Jordy Nelson, who has dominated Miami’s secondary so far with four catches for a ridiculous 151 yards. Carr is 10/15 for 197 yards passing and doesn’t seem shy about going deep. The Raiders have had a few injuries in this game, as Donald Penn is being looked at for a concussion and Karl Joseph is out with a lower leg injury. But the defense has played well, holding Miami to only 14 yards rushing and 112 yards...
