49ers: Last member of ‘ACL Club’ signs with the Raiders

Just over a year after general manager Trent Baalke left the 49ers, so has the last of his so-called ACL draft picks. On Friday, defensive lineman Tank Carradine signed with the Raiders, the Sacramento Bee first reported. Carradine was the last of the seven draft picks made by Baalke from 2013-16 who were recovering from serious knee injuries when they were selected. In most cases, Baalke’s intent was to have them sit out their first NFL year, taking a redshirt season, and have them ready to roll in Year 2. The results, of course, were...

49ers trade Kilgore to Dolphins, Richburg is new center

SANTA CLARA — Daniel Kilgore’s 49ers tenure came to an abrupt yet reasonable close Thursday with his trade to the Miami Dolphins. What to know about Falcons free agency

It is nearly time. The Atlanta Falcons, like 31 other NFL teams, will be kicking off free agency on Wednesday afternoon. The team will be busily talking to agents today and leading right up to the official kickoff of free agency, but they won’t be formally announcing any deals until that time. The Falcons will need to be busy to bolster their upcoming draft class and paper over some holes, but they’re unlikely to be major players when teams like the 49ers, Browns, and Buccaneers have a ton of cap space to throw around. With any luck, though, they’ll get their needs taken care of...

Richard Sherman says joining 49ers 'reignites that gasoline fire'

Richard Sherman doesn’t think it will take him too long to get comfortable with the 49ers. “I’ve spent a lot of time wearing a red jersey in the Bay, so I’m sure I’ll figure that out,” the 49ers new free agent acquisition said Monday on a conference call with reporters. Sherman, who played at Stanford before becoming a fifth-round draft pick for the Seahawks in 2011, made it clear that he is still out to prove doubters wrong. Sherman will turn 30 this month and is coming off an Achilles injury. “It reignited that gasoline fire...

2018 NFL Draft prospect profile: Kyle Lauletta, QB, Richmond

Lauletta is being compared to Jimmy Garoppolo, but is that accurate? Every NFL team is always on the lookout for quarterbacks who can be developed into starters. At best, these players can provide continuity at the most important position for a low investment, or become a trade commodity. That is what NFL teams have in mind when they look at Kyle Lauletta of Richmond. Though he is a senior, he is not yet a finished product, but shows an intriguing upside that suggests he could be a player in the mold of former New England Patriot and current San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy...
