Keith Hernandez: Castro ‘too unreliable’

Brian Kersey/Starlin Castro should be available next offseason, if not sooner, with the Cubs now loaded at shortstop. NEW YORK -- With the Chicago Cubs now flush with shortstops, count Keith Hernandez among those not in favor of the Mets attempting to acquire incumbent Starlin Castro. Castro, 24, is hitting .287 with 11 homers and 51 RBIs in 342 at-bats for Chicago this season. He is signed through 2019, at salaries of $6 million next year, followed by $7 million in 2016, then $9 million, $10 million and $11 million.
