NFL suspends Rob Gronkowski 1 game for late hit to head

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The NFL suspended New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski one game for a late, gratuitous hit to the head of Buffalo defensive back Tre'Davious White. White was lying face down on the sideline after intercepting a pass Sunday when Gronkowski body-slammed him, driving his forearm into White's back and head. Gronkowski was called for unnecessary roughness, but because of retaliation from the Bills there was no penalty assessed. After the game, which New England won 23-3, Patriots coach Bill Belichick appeared to apologize to Bills counterpart Sean McDermott....

ICYMI in NFL Week 13: Gronk's hit, Brady's spat for Patriots

Even as the New England Patriots won a 10th game for the 15th consecutive season to move closer to yet another AFC East title and a No. 1 seed for the playoffs, a late hit to an opponent's head by Rob Gronkowski and a sideline spat involving Tom Brady made things interesting for the defending Super Bowl champs. Patriots win eighth straight with 23-3 victory over Bills

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Rex Burkhead scored twice and the New England Patriots won their eighth straight by beating the Buffalo Bills 23-3, continuing their dominance over their AFC East rival. Tom Brady went 21 of 30 for 258 yards and an interception, while improving to 27-3 over Buffalo and breaking Brett Favre's NFL record for most wins by a quarterback against any one opponent. Favre had 26 wins over Detroit. Brady needed to simply stand aside and let the Patriots' rejuvenated rushing attack wear down the Bills in a game New England never trailed. Dion Lewis had 92 yards rushing and...

The latest on NFL Sunday: Tom Brady, Patriots have rough half against Bills

The Latest on the 13th Sunday of the NFL regular season (all times Eastern): 2:45 p.m. Quite a rough start for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. The Buffalo Bills have found ways to contain and fluster Brady, who was only 8 of 14 for 96 yards while getting sacked three times during the first half. The Patriots settled for three field goals while building a 9-3 halftime lead against their AFC East rival. That's New England's fewest points in a first half since a 16-0 loss to Buffalo on Oct. 2, 2016. That was a game Jacoby Brissett started for the Patriots in place of Brady, who was...

Let’s make it an even 10, shall we? The Dolphins’ stretch of futility in New England has reached a decade. The Patriots played like the Patriots and the Dolphins like …
