Preview: One more for the road as the Bruins face the Rangers

Photo by Steven Ryan/ The World’s Most Famous Arena! Just the facts When: Tonight, 7 PM Where: Madison Square Garden - New York, NY How to follow: TNT, 98.5 The Sports Hub Rival SBN site: Blueshirt Banter Game notes This will be the Bruins’ last road game of the preseason, as things wrap up at home on Saturday night. Considering the last game was in Newark, I’m not sure if the team had that roster come back home or not, but it probably would have made sense to just leave some guys down there. Maybe I’m just cheap. These two teams already played once this...

Bruins announce latest round of training camp cuts

Photo by Richard T Gagnon/ Some to Providence, some to the waiver wire. With just two preseason games to go, the Bruins still have plenty of roster moves to make before they slim things down to Opening Night size. Could the Bruins and Red Wings develop a new Atlantic Division rivalry?

Could the Bruins and Red Wings develop a new Atlantic Division rivalry?

Photo by Dave Reginek/NHLI via This Atlantic Division team has become much easier to hate There is nothing better about being a sports fan than a good rivalry. Seeing your team best a rival and then rubbing their fans’ faces in it is a satisfying feeling, even if you know that when the shoe is on the opposite foot, you’re inviting them to seek revenge. As they tend to do, the Bruins’ rivalries have fluctuated over the last decade. We, as Bruins fans, will always despise the Montreal Canadiens, but the team’s recent dominance over the Habs and their position in...

Photo by Mike Stobe/NHLI via It’s the new thing. Happy Tuesday, folks. We continue our march toward the regular season, with Opening Night Eve a week from today. Don’t forget to leave stick tape and Gatorade out for Hockey Santa. The B’s will be off today before things continue with tomorrow’s preseason match-up with the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, then the preseason will wrap up at home on Saturday. Earlier in the preseason, we saw the Bruins reveal their first jersey ad sponsor, and our collective response was pretty much “OK, that’s...
Recap: Nothing doing in Bruins’ 1-0 loss to New Jersey

Recap: Nothing doing in Bruins’ 1-0 loss to New Jersey

Photo by Bruce Bennett/ Well, this sure was a hockey game. A preseason hockey game took place tonight, and the Bruins were involved. That...just about sums it up! A 1-0 loss to the Devils is rarely going to be an exhilirating affair, and tonight’s game certainly wasn’t one to remember (though to be fair, no preseason game should really ever be one to remember). To the highlight (yes, one)! Tomas Tatar took advantage of some questionable gaps in coverage and a great pass to get a breakaway chance, and he didn’t miss. 1-0 Devils. Tossed a line to Tuna. :...
