Jays manage just 2 hits, lose to Royals

Photo by Jamie Squire/ Blue Jays 0 Royals 2 Just when we thought the bats were getting going, they have gone stone cold again. Just 2 hits today. We aren’t going to win many games with just 2 singles in nine innings. I really didn’t expect we wouldn’t hit this year. I don’t know what’s going on with the bats. We had chances: We had two on, in the second. Kirk walked, and Joe Panik singled, but Jonathan Davis struck out to end the inning. Two on in the third, Bo Bichette singled (our last hit of the game), and Vladimir Guerrero walked (on four pitches, they...

Game #16 Preview: Ray vs Singer

Photo by Jamie Squire/ Blue Jays (7-8) vs Royals (8-5) The Blue Jays wrap up their 4-game set against the Royals this afternoon, looking to earn a split of a series that they should have won. Gametime is set for 2:10 ET. Blue Jays’ Starter Left hander Robbie Ray will make his second start of the season now that he’s fully recovered from his bruised elbow. His first start went much as expected, as he allowed a pair of runs over 5 innings. Hopefully he can be a bit more stretched out, as he threw just 84 pitches in his first start of the season. He was pretty much...

Jays lose on a walk-off home run

Photo by Jamie Squire/ Blue Jays 2 Royals 3 It was a ‘use the whole staff’ day. Tommy Milone started and was excellent through 2 innings. He gave up a lead-off double in the first, and I was worried that he would be hit hard, but he got out of the inning with three strikeouts, with an infield single in between. The infield single, in my mind, should have been an error, ground ball that Bo Bichette made a nice stop on but then dropped it trying to get it out of his glove. With Carlos Santana running, he had tons of time. The second inning was 3 up, 3 down. The...
