Eagles release two players ... with another cut on the way?

Photo by Steven Ryan/ And so the roster trimming begins. The Philadelphia Eagles released offensive lineman William Dunkle and SAM linebacker Ali Fayad on Sunday, according to an official team announcement. This news comes a couple days before the Eagles are required to trim their roster down to 85 players prior to 4:00 PM Eastern on Tuesday, August 16. The Birds currently have 89 players under contract but Matt Leo’s exempt status makes the roster count 88. Thus, the Eagles must soon make three more moves. Dunkle and Fayad getting cut isn’t very surprising. Billy...

Eagles vs. Jets: 14 winners, 6 losers, 6 IDKs

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports Standouts from Philadelphia’s preseason game against New York. The Eagles lost to the Jets on Friday night. Devastating! Not really. It’s just the preseason. Anyway, let’s sort through some winners, losers, and I don’t knows. WINNERS TEAM HEALTH The most important thing in the preseason is avoiding injuries. It seems like no Eagles players got majorly injured on Friday night. That’s a win. Photo by Mitchell Leff/ The Eagles are 0-1 (in meaningless summer games). The Philadelphia Eagles kicked off their 2022 preseason schedule with a home game against the New York Jets. A little strange to type since these two teams usually end their preseason schedules against each other. But, alas, things are different this year. The final score was 24 to 21 with the Eagles losing. Of course, that doesn’t matter. What does matter is some of the performances from this game. Read on for some noteworthy moments from Friday night’s action. STARTING OFFENSE First drive:...
